In my magazine I have used the my own personal images and celebrity images to create a unique appearance .On my front page I have used my own image as the background , and used Bradley hand ITC and CURLZ MT as the TYPEFONTS and I have used word art to create the titles .
On my second page I have used celebrity images to add spice to the magazine and also attract the audience. I used many images which were found on Google and I created a page on awards allowing the public to keep an eye on the celebrity world as well as other interesting features in the magazine. I have again used the same Type font to keep a professional feel to the magazine, however I have used interesting eye catching colours such as baby pink and baby blue. Again these colours are picked bearing in mind that they are the most favorable colours among girls between the ages of 12 – 17, which are my target audience. In order to know this I did a survey among girls in my local high street which helped me to choose the particular images, colours and fonts. I chose to carry out a survey so I could gather information regarding the choices of the youths now days to create an effective approach for my magazine. This is also used in pg 3 .
In page 4 I have created an advert using my own personal image , I have used dark colures to contrast with the drink , I am advertising which is COOL , ENERGETIC AND reefing back to the name BOOMN which is colloquial for the term Great . I used dark colours as they attract all audiences, as black red and gold create a seductive image. To create an immense impact I have chosen a sexy, yet cool picture of a girl chilling on the floor, comfortable, holding the advertised drink. I have used different type fonts such as Times New Roman.
This was the analysis of my magazine. I have used many different colours, images, and ideas, based on what the public preferred and I made sure to do this.
Also in order create a more professional look for the magazine; I have added a barcode so the magazine looks real and presentable. This is important in order to achieve full marks.
Now I will be comparing my magazine to 2 other magazines I found that were quite similar to my magazine and were presented well.
The first magazine is called COSMO GIRL. The title is eye catching and the font is feminine which is perfect as the target audiences are women. Bright colours are used and big bold writing is also used to attract the reader’s attention. Feminine colours are used such as red, orange and blue which is again appropriate for the femine audience. However I believe the picture used for the magazine is rather tense. It doesn’t match the outstanding format of the magazine or the open minded approach. The model seems tense and forced. This was obviously the wrong picture to use as it is distracting and not appealing.
The second magazine I will be analyzing is
The magazine is very attractive and is targeted at women. Feminine colours have been used to appeal to its audience. It used different styles of fonts, even thought there is not much text present on this front cover it is still attractive and puts the message forward. The Image used is also appealing as the colours of the outfit are matching to the colours used in the font. This magazine is an attractive piece of work.
I feel both these magazines are similar to my own as they have most qualities that are the same .
