Les femmes dans la francophone
L'image des femmes a changé énormément depuis quelques décennies. Les rôles traditionnels de la femme étaient: cuisiner, faire le ménage et garder les enfants. Autrement dit, la possibilité de travailler hors de la maison, pour la plupart, était d’occuper des emplois peu qualifiés et faiblement rémunerés – par exemple, prendre soin des animaux.
De nos jours, les femmes continuent à pratiquer ces rôles en même temps que les hommes. Mais elles sont plus libres, ayant accès à l'éducation, au choix du mariage et la façon de s'habiller. En général, elles ne sont plus considerées comme inférieures aux hommes.
L'émancipation des femmes a été initié par le mouvement du droit des femmes. La lutte pour l’égalité a commencé, à petite échelle, aux Etats-Unis et Grande-Bretagne aux environs de 1840 (dix-huit-cent-quarante). Les femmes ont lutté pour leur accès aux études supérieures, pour voter, avoir des salaires justes et avoir des droits maritaux ainsi que d'autres droits.

The standard of French in this essay is extremely high, and the candidate has used correctly a wide range of tenses, as well as other grammatical features such as the passive voice, present participles and indirect, direct and demonstrative pronouns.
Level of analysis
The level of analysis in this piece is very high. There is engagement here with many different aspects of womens’ rights, including its history up to the present day, the differences between LEDCs and MEDCs, and issues such as domestic violence and FGM. The candidate has expressed his/her opinions on the subject matter throughout the essay and has made ample use of statistics and examples from current affairs to support his/her points. The essay has a clear structure and is argued very well.
Response to question
The candidate has responded extremely well to the prompt to write about the roel of women in French speaking countries, and has done so in excellent French. There is a wealth of information included and a high level of analysis and personal engagement with the topic. It is overall a very good essay for a GCSE candidate to have produced.
