Oui, ici.
Is there a lot of traffic in town?
In the hotel, there is facilities for archery, tennis and badminton, so on a relaxing day, we can go and play sport there. What do you think?
There is a hotel, near the city centre. Last year, my friend went there, and she found it had great facilities, for example a large pool and a magnificent breakfast with pancakes. Also, one can buy package tours from the hotel reception. I looked up some reviews, and people say that it is the best hotel in Tunis.
The important tourist sites are the bazaars, which are quite famous for selling beautiful Berber carpets. Also the Great mosque of Kairouan, which my friend visited when she went last year and she said it was huge and amazing.
We are going to stay in a five star hotel, so they serve their own food. Our breakfast is already paid for at the hotel, but for lunch and dinner, the hotel has 5 restaurants that serve different cuisines such as Italian and Chinese. Is there any cuisine in particular that you like?
And if you want a quiet place? There are green spaces?
Last week, I applied for a short holiday to a destination of my choice and I just found out that I won! The flights, accommodation and breakfast are paid for and I’ve decided to take you. I have decided that we are going to Tunis, in Tunisia. I chose this destination because we had been to Morocco last year and we really enjoyed that, so I think we will enjoy this too. Also, I do not like long flights, and the flight to Tunis only takes about 3 and a half hours and our hotel is close to the airport. During the week, I want to go to the Sahara desert. Even though Tunis is in the north of Tunisia and the Sahara Desert is in the southern area of Tataouine, Tunisia is the smallest country in Africa, so it won’t take that long to get there by coach. I would like to stay there for a few days because I also want to visit the Berber tribes in the area, to see how their culture is different from ours. I hear that the markets in Tunis are magnificent and on Fridays, there is a place near our hotel that does a Zulu night with dancing and dinner so we can go there. Have you been there before?
Dates and Olives. Also Couscous and Tajine. Tajine is also a Moroccan dish, but it is completely different to the Tunisian kind, which is a kind of spiced quiche, served cold.
What are the specialties of the region?
Have you been there before?
I think there would be a lot in August, because of all of the tourists that have gone there in their summer holidays, but there won’t be that much in October.
Unfortunately, as far as I know, no. I would be very lucky if I did, because I’d get to visit them and so go to the beautiful country. But no, my dad is from India and my mum is from Yemen.
Tunisia is a very hot country, as are most countries in the continent of Africa, so I think that October would be the best time, because August would be too hot as it is very close to the equator, but it would start to get cold in January.
A little. In fact, it only recently became a democracy in 2011. It was originally inhabited by Berber tribes, and then in the 7th century, it was taken over by Arab Muslims and then the Ottoman empire.
What attractions are more important to you?
They speak mostly Arabic, but almost everyone knows French. But since we are mostly going to tourist parts, most people will know English.
What languages do they speak there?
No, but after having been to Morocco, I imagine it is quite similar. I want to go because they have a relaxed lifestyle that I love.
What could be the best time to go?
Do you have any friends or family out there?
Did you find a map of the city center?
Of course! We are going to stay in the Port El Kantaoui area, and I would really like to go shopping in the area, because they have some really nice shops. You can also go parasailing in the area, so we can do that. Do you agree?
Would you go see the area?
What are the important tourist sites?
Do you know a little history of the city?
The hotel owns a private beach, so one can go there. Alternatively, in the city, there are a few large parks, where one can relax
How can we go from the airport to the hotel?
I really like the beach, and I would love to sit on the golden sand, under the sun, near the Mediterranean Sea reading a good book. That’s the life. There are also a few museums nearby, such as the Carthage national museum, which has lots of cool archaeological finds.
And if you want to play sport?
