Table of Contents Anatomy and Physiology Justification of Fitness Components for Rounders Physical fitness is the ability to cope effectively with the stresses of everyday life and still have energy left over for emergencies. Fitness can contribute to a healthy lifestyle, but health and fitness are not the same thing. The level of fitness you require depends on your lifestyle. A relatively sedentary life only requires brisk walks to maintain your fitness level. However, if you play sport regularly, you have to train many times a week to maintain a high fitness level. Fitness consists of many components which fall into two categories: health-related fitness or motor/skill-related fitness. Health-related fitness is essential for everyone to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Motor/skill-related fitness is more important to the sports performer. Health-related fitness: - * Aerobic capacity (cardiovascular endurance) - the ability of an athlete to take in and use oxygen, allowing participation in

I have chosen to do my study on a comparison of hockey passing (hit and push).

Analytical Investigation. When I had chosen these sports I had to rule out which sports I would not be able to have access to equipment easily, at first I recognised that swimming would be very hard as there is not really a quiet time after school hours to use the swimming pool publicly. Then I also ruled out netball, as this is not one of my favourite aspects of sport and would find it challenging to do my Analytical Investigation on this sport. I was then left with Hockey and Badminton and as facilities I had in mind for Badminton were not available, I was left with hockey, which was a delight as I have three grass pitches available to me in my area and two Astroturf pitches. This would make it easy for me to arrange my sessions to suit the pupils and me. I have chosen to do my study on a comparison of hockey passing (hit and push). I am choosing this sport as I have been playing hockey now for three years at school and for nearly three years at Salford Youths also playing for Manchester Youths and Manchester Moss Park Ladies. I have taken part in the Greater Manchester Youth Games twice and also played in many different leagues and tournaments. I train once week and have a league match every other Sunday morning. Since year 7 I have been taught the basic rules and skills of hockey in P.E in school. But since I have been attending Salford Youths my knowledge has

Personal Exercise Plan.

Personal Exercise Plan The aim of my Personal Exercise Programme The aim of my personal exercise plan is to improve my stamina and my muscular endurance. I will work hard at these throughout the weeks and hope to improve them. Stamina- I will improve this by using the principle of progression over the 6 weeks. I will be increasing frequency, intensity and time Muscular endurance- I will improve this using the principle of overload and intensity. I will train so my heart rate is in my target zone. I decided to choose stamina and muscular endurance to improve because they appeared to be the ones that I needed to improve the most from the tests that I did. Also it will improve my game of netball, because I will have more energy to last the whole match. What principles of training will I use? I will use the following principles of training: Specificity- means to be able to be specific to a sport or activity or to work certain muscle groups, examples are marathon runner's train specifically to endurance work. Progression- this principle involves increasing training gradually. As the body adapts to training it progresses to a new level of fitness Overload- fitness can be improved through training more than you normally do. Not to be mistaken with over training. I will use the principle overload using these: Frequency- training more often Intensity- working harder Type-

Health and safety - working with computers

Introduction: Many health problems can arise from working with computers. Articles appear regularly in the newspapers relating stories of employees who are suing their employers for computer-related illnesses. Whilst computers process data and perform calculations with complete accuracy, humans need food, rest and relaxation if they are to avoid headaches, stress, tired limbs and mistakes. This report aims to be describe health and safety issues related to the installation of computing systems, and then will describe that how the study of ergonomics can improve the classroom environment, the last will evaluate the ergonomic elements incorporated in our computer classroom. Main text: Health and safety Our desktop computer can cause more problems than ours know. Stress is often the cause of much work-related illness. Having too much to do in the time available, completing tasks, which are new to you and about which you are unsure, and sometimes not having enough to do, are all factors affecting stress at work. In some organisations, computers are used to monitor the volume of work completed. The resulting stress can cause headaches, stomach ulcers and sleeplessness. In some work roles it can be difficult to get away from work; the use of mobile phones and laptop computers mean that you may be working 'on the move' whilst having a modem at home means you can easily take

Rules, regulations and legislation are really important as they provide a safe environment for both players and supporters at a football match/stadium.

Rules, regulations and legislation are really important as they provide a safe environment for both players and supporters at a football match/stadium. Stewards are at Football matches to offer general assistance. They also have a main roll in controlling the crowd. As well as that they look after the safety of the players by stopping angry supporters getting onto the pitch. Just think what a football match would be like without them. Fist fights on the pitch and in the stands. There certainly wouldn't be a game. Police do the same jobs as stewards but have a lot more power. They have the power of arrest. Any fans fighting or causing trouble the police can arrest them and take them to the prison cells within the stadium until the game is finished then they are taken to the nearest police station. The police also segregate the crowd. This means standing in between the supporters of each team. This is to stop fights both physically and verbally breaking out between the supporters At any football stadium there will be CCTV cameras at every entrance. This is to keep an eye out for trouble and supporters trying to enter without tickets. When lots of supporters enter the stadium without tickets tragedies like the Hillsborough Disaster occur. On match day there are at least fifteen people employed to sit and watch screens showing CCTV footage. With these measures it is easy to

PPP - Basketball

P.P.P My name is Joe and I am 16 years old, almost 17. I have measured my height and I am 6 feet tall. I have chosen to focus my PPP on Basketball. I have picked basketball because I find it interesting tactically, I would like to improve my level of play and above all I enjoy it. I have done basketball as one of the sports in my PE GCSE and we got a basketball coach in and he taught us a fair bit of skills and what to do in different situations. I would like to improve my stamina in the sport to increase the speed I play and how consistent I am. Also I think this will help me improve my agility as I see these as my weaknesses. My strength, I think is my jumping height and I believe focusing on my stamina will build-up my overall strength within the sport. My improvements will be made within the 6 weeks I have to complete a training programme. Speed is the ability to perform a movement in a short period of time. This is essential in basketball, for example to be able to sprint back to defend after shot for the basket misses and the opponents get the ball. Suppleness is the ability to bend as far as possible at your joints. Suppleness can be used when trying to defend against an attack and bending your arms enough to block a pass/ shot. Strength is the power of action or resistance i.e.: taking a punch in boxing or giving a punch in boxing because you need to have some
