  Violence exists in different forms and can be inflicted in different ways. In ‘Hitcher’ by Simon Armitage violence got to the extreme as he physically beat someone to death and threw him out the car. In ‘Stealing’ by Carol Ann Duffy the violence came from anger and the anger had been built up so much that he took it out on a snowman due to his jealousy for other people in life. In ‘Education for Leisure’ also by Carol Ann Duffy the violence was brought on by depression and insanity because he was so unrecognized he was urged more and more by every person who ignored him to do something that would make him known ad famous. The violence in ‘The Man he Killed’ by Thomas Hardy is not violence from the decision of the man himself as he is at war and has been given an order to kill, so when he comes one on one with a foe then he does his job.
