Though Charities were set up to help poorer countries, maybe people believe that charity starts and stays at home. Wealth is something a lot of people choose to become as a result of hard earned work. Maybe people believe in wealth as a power to control and change, such as MPs & the Prime Minister. In my view this is good as these people will try and make life a better and a more successful experience.
It is understandable that every human being is entitled to basic life needs (Food, Water, and Shelter). Eccl 3: 13 “That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil— this is the gift of God.” In this quotation it suggests that all of us should be great full for everything we get in life but not everyone believe in this. I personally don’t because the poor don’t have a lot of food or water and they can’t share their belongings, simply because they need it desperately themselves.
It is up to the person if they decide to give to charity, there are so many charities being set up that people believe that it’s all scam money and none of the money donated is actually used. This worries people who do give to charity as well, We know parish donated money is sent off and used, but other donations like charity pots or people who stand in your local shopping centre asking for donations – this is also quite irritating to people as well.
There will always be poverty, it cannot be stopped but can be helped. People donating to charity do a good thing but is it really worth it to the big picture? A lot of people do not ask questions about charities they donate to, instead are too busy to ask questions and donate and think they are being good people, this in a way is wrong, it can be discriminated by the fact they could be donating their money to anything and they don’t ask enough questions about a charity and understand it. I believe if people start helping each other it wouldn’t come to less developed countries becoming poorer and poorer.
Instead of poor countries trying to pay off debt they owe, get on with life itself, Grow crops for themselves instead of selling them for unfair prices to MEDC’s like Europe & USA. This would instead save a lot of money problems in a family than in a country as a whole.
