Science explains the world around us; its chemical properties, its physical processes and the life which inhabits it. In studying Science you will learn how to analyse, to experiment and to explain and you’ll build valuable skills of numeracy and literacy. Science is delivered in different formats according to which school you go to and how the curriculum is delivered. You may study the component subjects as individual pathways – this will mean you are entered for separate examinations in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. However you may study the subject as a Double Award ‘combined’ Science, where you will study elements and topics from all three. This double award, as the name suggests, is worth two GCSE grades. Assessment is done by a mixture of practical work and examinations and there are key techniques you’ll need to master to perform well. Marked by Teachers has a massive range of answers from GCSE Science questions which will enable you to directly learn from the expertise of experienced teachers and previous learners of the subject. Good performance in your Science GCSEs are an essential preparation for anyone considering a career in Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science, Engineering or Pharmacology as you’ll be studying at least two and probably three sciences at Advanced level.
