Secondly the Mother:
She is second because she is going to take the risk to go through pregnancy etc. the mother would
Believe that termination of pregnancy should only be concerned if health and social problems included, Health:
If the baby is going to expose the mother’s life to danger during pregnancy, then it is the right of the mother to terminate the pregnancy.
Social: She cannot look after the child, poor background, or any husband or assistance, single alone, huge family can’t handle any more kids, or the children she has are all the same sex and the child she has is still the same sex again…
Islam as a Religion considers the health issue as a valid reason to terminate pregnancy, but considers the social reasons Irreverent, because we are all created and looked after by our mighty lord, however in the western country’s they consider both reasons valid which is wrong.
The mother’s usually think that they have the right alone to choose the decision of terminating pregnancy because they have held the baby 9 months, and went through pain and agony, which makes them think it will give them the upper hand, but that is not fully correct, for it wont give her a Devine right of terminating the pregnancy.
Lastly the Father:
The father has every right to be involved, for it is his child as well as the mother’s, for at the end of the day, he is the one responsible finically to bring the child up, and to guide the child throughout life. The father is and has got the decision and right with the mother of terminating the pregnancy.
I think that a Mother is not the only one involved for it is the 3 that complete the decision, and that the mother should not even terminate a pregnancy, kill a baby, for stupid reasons such as ‘’I don’t have a husband’…etc…, the fact that knowing that you are killing a baby alive, for a stupid reason, destroying a life for what, for social problems, for the sake of being happier. Islam prohibits this, for even if the baby has 3 hands or 6 heads, it doesn’t matter, Allah creates every single one of us, and the only thing accepted to terminate pregnancy is if the mother is in danger…e.g.
Dieing and the mother should know that, evidence from the Quran, that terminating pregnancy for reasons irrelevant:
(Next page on evidence)
‘Kill not your offspring for fear of poverty; it is we who provide for them and for you. Surely, killing them is a great sin’. Quran 17:32
More Proof:
Islam forbids the termination of a pregnancy after soul or 'Ruh' is given to the foetus (Which means unborn).
A relevant Hadith suggests that the moment of soul enters is 120 days:
Narrated Abdullah: Allah's Apostle, the true and truly inspired said, "(as regards your creation), every one of you is collected in the womb of his mother for the first forty days, and then he becomes a clot for another forty days, and then a piece of flesh for another forty days. Then Allah sends an angel to write four words: He writes his deeds, time of his death, means of his livelihood, and whether he will be wretched or blessed (in religion). Then the soul is breathed into his body..."Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 55, and Number 549
Islam allows abortion to save the life of the mother because it sees this as the 'lesser of two evils' and there is a general principle in Sharia (Muslim law) of choosing the lesser of two evils. Abortion is regarded as a lesser evil in this case because:
-
the mother is the 'originator' of the foetus (unborn)
- the mother's life is well-established
- the mother has with duties and responsibilities
- the mother is part of a family
- allowing the mother to die would also kill the foetus in most cases
Lastly the answer straight forward, the mother is not the only one that is involved in terminating pregnancy it is the 3 that will/do complete the decision Child, Mother and Father ( if father not present then decision is held with mother and child(child by law) e.g. father died ‘.
