Citizenship Essay on work experience

Citizenship Coursework A: Work Experience In this piece of coursework I am going to write about my work experience with the Army. The Army is an international force that works as a force to initially protect their country. There are many different career paths to be taken in the Army from a serving soldier to a mechanical engineer to a medic. The Army can be a very beneficial Career path as there is a lot on offer; you can travel the world, learn new skills, improve your education and have excellent pay. The main purpose of the Army is to fight and protect your country. I chose to do my work experience with the Army after listening to a presentation on it one assembly. I took the opportunity as I thought it would be a fun new experience. The cost of the Army trip was £75 for 5 Days, Monday to Friday and we would be staying in tents on a camp site. Preparation included meetings during and after school about the trip, there we was told and given vital information such as kit lists , times we would deport and arrive home and the activities we would be doing throughout the week. Some meetings involved parents and letter were given out. Any other questions we had about the trip were answered. No interview was required as it was a school residential therefore any information needed was passed through school. The campsite was based in the Lake District so we travelled by coach.

Work Experience - Apprehension set in about 40ft away from the store. Near enough to be able to see the store, but far enough away to be unnoticed- so that it would be easy to turn and run home.

Original Writing Work Experience. Apprehension set in about 40ft away from the store. Near enough to be able to see the store, but far enough away to be unnoticed- so that it would be easy to turn and run home. Despite the nerves I somehow managed to make it there on time, but not without a few thoughts on what it was going to be like. As I entered the store, I noticed the security camera, and as I walked it followed, watching my every move. Approaching the front desk, it felt as if everyone in the store was watching me, so with another look to the exit, I asked a member of staff where the managers office was- they pointed me in the direction. Once inside the complex burrows of "out back," I met most of the team, including the manager, a nice happy bunch, and friendly too. After the introductions I was set to work, with Pete in Goods In. The nerves were still there, and I couldn't shake them, even though Pete was the only other person in the room. I couldn't help feeling that I was being watched- strange. With the task of "de- stickering" over with I went to lunch. Gathering my things from the locker I had been assigned, I went back into the shop and almost immediately felt eyes upon my back- surely this was paranoia as no one was looking or standing near me? Hurrying my steps I left the building, but not before noticing the camera's once more. Lunch in the park was

DT report

Design Brief In this project I will design an apparatus which will hold a test-tube, basically as a showpiece. Even though test tubes are usually used to hold variables in science, I will be using it as a flower holder. My new boss at the company has asked me to make a flower vase, and has decided that the newest item in the store will be a test-tube flower vase. He has asked me that it has to be commercially viable, which will totally depend on my target audience. My main target audience in this project is the general female adult, because it would be the best area to sell a flower vase. This is because showpieces in stores are mostly bought by the female adult who wants to make a place look good by its presence. I'm choosing this audience because they are the ones that most commonly use vases, and it is the place where I can make the most money. In order to do this, I will go through a whole process which is in this project. I will start of with researching existing examples, researching materials and I will go on to survey a group of people and I will go on to use the results in order to plan my design. I will go on to create my design and then I will evaluate my whole project. Overall, I will follow the design cycle in this project to create my flower vase. The tools and materials that I will use will all come from the DT lab. Materials Research In this project there

Work Experiance Talk

Work Experience I decided to choose my own work experience with a graphics design company which is based in Shirley as its quite convenient for me, my job title was a printing graphic design worker, which could mean a lot of things but my work experience was mainly focused on the printing aspects of graphic design. Before my 1st day I felt really pleased of where I have picked to work and very calm as the person I worked for was a close family friend which made work experience a whole less daunting. My 1st day was pretty easy I started work at 9 and finished at 5. He showed me around a set down a few basic rules for me he then set me some work to do which was printing cards. It was pretty easy and I was enjoying it. After I came back from lunch he then showed me how to use his printing machine. He showed me all the basic's of it after he had shown me all this I had a go at the machine myself. Over the 2 weeks of work experience I did a lot of things for example making pictures for key rings, diaries and cards. I enjoyed this as everyday I went to work experience I had a new challenge. I think I have learnt a lot of stuff from the work experience such as being set deadlines for something to be done by a certain time, working hard and the most important of all that work isn't easy Thank you for listening to my talk about work experience, Is there any

Favourite character book

Favorite character It is too difficult to say who my favorite literary character is. I have read many books in my life and it seems to me that most of the characters were good, beautiful and brave. I prefer books about friendship, love and happiness in life. I'm convinced that most of the features mentioned above can be found in the novel entitled "Anne of Green Gables" written by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Anne lived in Prince Edward Island in Canada She was a charming girl with romantic imagination and sense of beauty. She had a freckled nose and red hair, and won the female readers' hearts all over the world. Anne's parents were teachers but they died early and the baby was alone in the world. In the third month of her life Anne found the people who took care of her. She had a very sad childhood because she had to work hard. The young girl worked as a baby-sitter, at first at Mrs Thomas', then at the Hammonds'. Then she lived in an orphanage. Next she was adopted by Mary and Mat Cuthbert. Anne loved Mary and Mat very much for their big hearts. And she loved Diana because her friend was a very good and smart girl. Anne Shirley was very clever, ambitious and intelligent person. The girl studied very willingly, read a lot, recited a lot, and improved her writing skills. All people on the Green Gables liked Anne very much, even Mrs Linde, who didn't like her at first. Mat

I worked with the year 1's and Year 2's, however I also worked with the staff at the placement. I used the necessity skills that were suppose to be used to assist effective communication with the children and the staff, such things as eye contacting with the children. I used this very well, this was one of my strengths because the children they interacted and the conversations went well between us, it was a very powerful tool when used to communicate with someone. Below shows a number of interpersonal skills: * Speaking effectively * Listening * Motivating * Cooperating * Delegating with respect * Showing enthusiasm to achieve your goals * Body language * Eye contact * Facial expression Weaknesses Speaking effectively- I think this was one of my weaknesses. I think that for getting my points and opinions I needed to speak louder and clearer. This would have directed and made my feelings and opinions clearer to the person I was communicating with mainly with the staff. NDP Leader Jack Layton said Friday he would work with the provinces to hire 1,200 doctors and 6,000 nurses over the next 10 years. As well, he said, the NDP would invest $80 million to upgrade medical schools and educate the next generation of family doctors. The party would create a fund to repatriate 300 Canadian doctors now practising abroad and "streamline" the credential recognition process to get hundreds of foreign-trained doctors accredited in Canada more quickly. Layton's plan would also include loan forgiveness for medical professionals who practise family medicine for at least 10 years and offered help to health professionals willing to practise in rural areas. The overall plan is what the party proposed in the 2008 campaign, but this time would cost $35 million less a year ($165 million versus $200 million), the CBC's James Cudmore reported. The NDP attributes the difference to the "fiscal framework" in 2011 compared with 2008. Layton made the health-care announcement during a campaign stop at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ont. Campaign energy questioned The NDP leader was asked afterward by reporters about a perceived lack of energy in his campaign, with fewer events each day than the Liberals and Tories, and a sense that it lacks pizzazz compared with previous NDP campaigns. The issue was raised Friday in a Globe and Mail article, which questioned

My work experience at South London Press.

My work experience at South London Press. Near the end of last year, my schools work experience co-coordinator came to us and told us it was time to begin planning for work experience, which begins on July 7th till the 16th. Due to fact I've always wanted to work experience because older children in the past have said it has been fun and enjoyable, plus you get to work in typical work environment. Although work experience has gained praise I believe work experience is about learning new skills, learning new ideas, working as part of a team and having the ability to communicate. Although our work experience co-ordinator said "do not restrict yourself to just the job you believe your going to do in the future, but try to get a job which you're interested in." With that in mind I began applying for placements in my field of interest Media, before the Christmas holidays I sent out a number of application forms which had included a cover letter, a c.v. And a permission letter from work experience co-ordinator Ms McQuaid. During the holidays I waited for replies from my choice of placements but I heard nothing. So when I came back after the new Year I sent of thirty five new applications to various sections in media, these included KISS 100, Capital fm, XFM, Channel FIVE, The Sun, The Daily Mirror and The South London Press. When it came to February I began to get various

Amit Ruparel, 15, is a boarder at Repton School, doing his GCSEs. He lives in Derby with his parents, brother and sister. I wake up at around half-past seven with a big yawn. I then get up, grab my towel and shower gel, go downstairs and have a shower. Every time I wake up at this time of the morning I think if I were at home I would be still asleep. As soon as I have had my shower I go back upstairs and get changed. I then go downstairs for breakfast, which is compulsory. For breakfast I have a bowl of cereal and a glass of fresh orange juice. I like eating cereal at any time of the day. I think that it is nice at any point of the day. I also believe that fresh orange juice is really good for you. Recently I have been trying to be careful with my diet due to my weight, I am trying to eat as healthier as possible. When I have had my breakfast I go upstairs and check if I have any unfinished prep to do and if I do then I get on with it. If I have not got any unfinished prep or any other work to be getting on with I turn on my computer and play some games. My computer is a very important part of my life; I could not do much with out it. I have always used the computer wherever I can; I use it for my work as well as playing on it when I am bored. I get my books ready a few minutes later so I leave the house five minutes before the lessons start or even earlier, so
