  1. YOUR BUSINESS IDEA:

  1. Our business idea is a special tea house. The tea house sells healthy latvian teas that are purchased from latvian home farmers. We try to emphasise the importance of the latvian culture. In addition we offer different entertainment facilities to our customers. These are some kind of dances, concerts, table games, word games, opportunity to read books and so on. The relaxation and the entertainment come together in this tea house and customers can choose what they want to do. The name of our café is Tea Culture.
  2. We try to provide a good atmosphere, relaxation and entertainment to our customers. We provide also opportunity to take care of their health and communicate in a cosy and comfortable place. Moreover our café offers different activities (concerts, dances, games etc.) each day to let people spend their free time interestingly.
  3. The owners:

  1. There are 3 owners. The ownership is shared the following : 40%, 30%, 30%.

  1. ECONOMICS OF ONE UNIT:

  1. We will pay a salary to an owner who is also a director, but other owners will receive a dividend.

  4. The economics of one unit for our business are:

Average sales price of a tea pot (2 Ls) + average sales price of sweets (3 Ls) = 5Ls per customer

Average cost of a tea pot (1,40 Ls) + average cost of sweets (2 Ls) = 3,40 Ls

Gross profit per unit = 5 – 3,40 = 1,60 Ls

  1. Skills, resources: we have knowledge in economics, marketing, finance and ecology. We have also friends and acquaintances who dance, play instruments (piano, guitar, saxophone etc.), sing and also can help to decorate our café. Some of us have working experience in restaurant business.

  1. TECHNOLOGY:

The most specific work in our café is preparing herbal teas.

1. Measure tea leaves
In general, it takes 1 tea spoon of tea leaves per a cup of water. For lighter and voluminous tea leaves, it needs double quantity, 2 tea spoons.

2. Get the water boiled to a proper temperature
Bring cold water to boiling, and let it cool down with the rid off for 2-3 mins to get a proper temperature to brew green teas. Or transfer boiling water into a cold tea pot or cups, it cool the temperature down about 10 degree.

3. Infuse and serve
Put dry tea leaves in a pre-warmed tea pot or cup, and pour hot water at the appropriate temperature onto. As for long, Chinese green and white teas, it is recommended to pour some hot water for a few seconds and discard it before you actually start to infuse tea. This rinsing process helps tea leaves to open up easily.

Herbal teas should typically be made with boiling water and steeped a minimum of 4-6 minutes, some for up to 10 minutes.

  1. DIFFERENT KINDS OF HERBAL TEAS:

  • Wild Raspberry Tea - this tea has a pleasant taste. It contains sugars, organic acids (mostly citric acid and malic acid), and C and B group vitamins, carotene, essential oils. Raspberry tea is also very useful against cold and flu.
  • Birch leave and bud tea - birch buds contain about 5% of essential oils with a pleasant smell. Birch leaves contain 0.005% of essential oils, Vitamin C. This tea is restorative, very useful at the end of winter.
  • Chicory tea - most of this tea is used as a coffee substitute, because it has coffee flavor. It also contains calcium, iron, carotene, vitamin B1 group. Chicory also has calming effect.
  • Cranberry tea - cranberry tea has a pleasant taste, it contains C, B group vitamins, different microelements, which are useful against cold, cough, runny nose, headache and fever. This tea also contains versatile vitamin complex that sustain us.
  • Blackberry tea - blackberry leaves containing organic acids, pectic substances, inositol, vitamin C. This tea enriches organism with vitamins and has calming effect, which is very useful in case of insomnia.
  • Caraway tea - contains essential oils, which gives this tea strong and pleasant smell and taste. Tea can also help in case of gastrointestinal disorder.
  • Cloudberry tea - contains a rich supply of vitamin C, it is popular for body strengthening and toning.
  • Blueberry Tea - it contains tannage, carotene, protein, oil, C and B group vitamins. It straightens the organism an can help against stomachache.
  • Blackcurrant and strawberry tea - this tea has very pleasant and refreshing taste. The content of vitamins straighten the organism and cheer up.
  • Heather tea - heather contain a lot of manganese, as well as other biologically active substances. This tea perfectly cleanses the skin.
  • Clover tea- It inhibits cholesterol accumulation in blood vessels.
    Tea excellently improves metabolism. It treats fever, colds, reduces the temperature. Clover flowers and plants tea is used in bronchitis, asthma.
  • Dropwort tea - tasty and aromatic, acting diuretic and as an anti-inflammatory agent, it is lowering the temperature, treating cold, chest pain. It is used to treat agitation and insomnia.
  • Camomile -the ‘mother of the gut’. Use for digestive weakness. Also very helpful to alleviate tension. A pleasant herb for children, to relive colic and promote rest.
  • Peppermint - a herb for the digestive system. Harmonies well with elderflower for colds and catarrh. Try for headaches.
  • Coltsfoot - it has been used medicinally as a cough suppressant. The plant has been used since at least historical times to treat lung ailments such as asthma as well as various coughs by way of smoking. Crushed flowers supposedly cured skin conditions.
