The Eiffel Tower is made from 18,000  pieces of puddled iron, and weighs a total of 10,100 tones, although the number of steps has varied throughout history, but today has 1665 steps, though it is impossible to climb and lifts are used instead. The tower being 324m, is by far the tallest building in Paris and the second tallest in France, and can be seen 42 miles on a clear day. It is also famous among architects for being one of the few tall structures in the world that is perfectly vertical. Maintenance of the tower includes applying 50 tons of paint every seven years to protect it from .

The tower attracts an average of 6 ½ million people per year. The tower is one of the world’s main tourist attractions and the number of visitors keeps increasing each year. The tower has three levels with exceptional panoramic views day and night of Paris and its surroundings displaying Paris’ beautiful monuments, telescopes to observe the view, shops, animated displays, a 360° view over Paris, this is the perfect area to take magnificent pictures. The tower also contains two 1st class restaurants, one of which is considered one of the world’s top 50 restaurants. These restaurants are not for the weak of wallet. The tower at night is very beautiful and striking, it sparkles every hour for ten minuets its display of glittering lights rejuvenates the 116 years old iron tower to a magical crystal tower which the Parisians are very proud of. Fireworks are held at the Eiffel tower each year and the Eiffel tower also dresses up on special occasions like on the Chinese New Year in which the tower went red. Paris and the Eiffel Tower is considered a very romantic place and city it is often a place where many engagements take place.

Overall the Eiffel tower truly is an amazing piece of artwork. Although it was originally meant to stand for 20 years, I think we can all say that we are very glad it didn’t get demolished. The tower offers magnificent views; displays both day and night and on special occasions and I hope that everyone gets to see it one day.
