Steroids should be banned from all professional sports because they can cause physical problems. How would you feel of you were taking steroids for athletic purposes and found out that you had liver cancer? You would never be able to play your sport at a high skill level ever again. With one mistake you can change your life completely around. With continued use of steroids you can jeopardize your career and your life. The steroid user can get cardiovascular disease and many others. The user can also get more common diseases like the flu more frequently. “The massive doses of steroids that women will take when they are "cycling" on steroids will have many dangerous side effects.”

(Hemme, John. Steroids in the 90’s.) This quote tells you that more people are using steroids for practical purposes. You should not try to harm your body for nothing. As the user uses steroids frequently the younger the person is to die. Steroid use can also affect an athlete’s public description. They can have a serious Acne problem around the whole body. This can also cause an athlete to be humiliated by there appearance. Athletes who use steroids can make their life and public appearance in jeopardy. Another fact is that steroids can affect an athlete’s personality.
This brings up another important fact that steroids should be banned from all professional sports because it can cause an athlete to have emotional and mental problems. What if one day a person comes up to you out of the “blue” and started to just yell at you? You would feel very violated. These rages of anger are called “Roid Rages.” The athletes who use steroids have frequent mood swings and that can affect their personal and social life. “These addictions, as with most addictions, will cause the user to lose interest in friends and family, concentrating only on enhancements to his physique and athletic performance”(Hemme, John. Steroids in the 90’s.) John Hemme is trying to say that using steroids can make you to grow apart from your friends and family. You will not trust anyone. The athlete would be so into his or her body that they would not even worry about helping their family or friends. Another important detail is that the athlete can feel paranoid at times and can be confused about doing simple tasks. If you were a coach on a team would you want a player who couldn’t do simple things like calling plays or putting on equipment and then put them on the field to play. I don’t know

about you but I would not put that player on the field. There is no reason for a whole team to suffer for the actions of one person. Why would an athlete be so willing to risk
his or her mental sanity for a drug? Many athletes who use steroids commit more crime than people who don’t use steroids. Steroids can make you lose control of your life. You will not be as focused as you were when you did not use steroids. It can affect your game significantly.
In conclusion any athlete who is taking drug's to help them is a disgrace to themselves, their family and even their country and league. If it is in a sport connected with the country it makes that country look bad and it can make the league look bad. Why would you even harm your body for a game? If your using steroids then you should never play that sport because you are ruining your life and the life of the players who don’t use steroids. All in all drugs in sport, look to be becoming more and more popular. I just hope they go away as quickly as they came in. But, with all the excitement and with the profit of sport, it's hard to see drug's disappearing.
