2) In my workplace at an eye clinic my team had suffered a serious crisis as they were unable to generate new ideas, because, most of the people didn`t know what their job was and how they were supposed to deal with the patients.
3) By playing Scenario 5 I have learned that it sums up all of the previous scenarios from one to four that I have played and I applied it in Scenario 5 and also that in real life situation people sometimes have to stay calm, be visible, tell the truth, and communicate a vision for the future.
I could apply this to the real life situation by staying calm even if I did my work wrong, I had to tolerate other staff members and take the total blame for myself even if some of the things wasn`t my fault.
4) With a "real" leadership opportunity like this I would try to tolerate the blames that I would get from my manager as much as possible, then at a certain stage I would leave the job and look for another job i.e. if I find out that most of the blames that I got from my managers and staff members is not actually my fault.
Re-Act 6: your quick response to Week 9 lecture video- Brunat Brown:
1)No, because whatever I am, it will never help me to improve myself and stand in front of the people, and if I don`t change then people may take advantages of me which will lead me not doing the things that I wanted to do.
3) Fully embrace your vulnerability means accepting the unknown and uncontrollable. The protective walls of perfection are removed. And our authentic self is fully present. While one of the greatest challenges, embracing vulnerability is also one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves. Vulnerable means beautiful, they didn`t talk about executing, they talked about being necessary, the willingness to say I love you first, the willingness to do something where there is no guarantees, the willingness to call doctors after your memo gram, willingness to invest in a relationship which may or may not work. However, it was a trial, however that lead to breakdown. I hate vulnerability and I thought that this was my chance to beat it back with the measuring stick. I was going in, I was going to figure it out, I was going to spin the year, I am going to totally deconstruct shame and understand how vulnerability works and outsmart it. However, as usual it didn`t turn out well. So that is why my one year turned into six years which lead to thousands of stories, hundreds of long interviews, focus groups, and people were sending her stories and journal papers in six years. First research came to my mind was being wholehearted. One thing they had was courage, cor means heart. The courage to imperfect. They read that what being vulnerable means beautiful, they didn`t talk about vulnerability being comfortable not they didn`t talk about exercruing, they talked about being necessary, the willingness to say I love you first, the willingness to do something where there is no guarantees, the willingness to call doctors after your memo gram, willingness to invest in a relationship which may or may not work, I thought it was a trial at first, however that lead to breakdown, which in other word meant I was fully embraced with my vulnerability.
Re-ACT 8: your quick response to Week 11 lecture video:
1) Whatever we do, the reason why we do it is because of the way we act, communicate, the outside in. Everything we do is because we belief in challenging the status code. The way we challenge the status quo is by making our patterns designed, simple to use, and user friendly which is how to improve computers. It explains why every single person is comfortable buying a computer from Apple, MP3 from Apple, or a phone from Apple, or a TV from Apple. Sometimes people do what they do to sell their products and make profit and people don`t buy what you, but why you do it. The goal is to do business with people who believe of what you believe. We communicate the inside out of the brain that controls behaviour and which allows people to rationalise it with the tangible thinks we say and do and this is where our guts comes out. If I don`t know why I do what I do and people respond to why I do what I do then how importantly are you being loyal. The goal is not to sell people to know what they have, the goal is to sell people who believe what you believe, the goal is not just to hire people who need a job, and it is to hire people who believe what you believe. Nobody will try to do something unless somebody else had tried it because they want to become first. We do is the proof of what we believe.
2) I am a person who leads as I like to inspire my individuals or organisations to follow those who does not lead because they have to, but because they want to.
PART THREE
Personal Mission Statement:
- Personal Mission:
My mission in terms of my unique identity is where I am a person with a distinctive capability which other people cannot copy 100% and that is I think equally whenever I compare with other people which other people don`t do as they are really busy with their jobs and families. I also think in every direction on how to solve a problem very quickly which would be possible as I think only for those particular directions. In terms of my personal brand, I am a person who is marked as brand as I am uniquely distinguishable from other people as nobody in the world can copy my brands 100% as people do not think the way I think.
The purpose in my life which I will stay focused forever is to complete studies, graduate as soon as possible, then finally look for a job related with business as I have interest in that field or area. However, when I will gain a lot experience by working at some other companies, then I might think of opening up my own business.
- Core Values:
The core values that support and guide my mission are achievement as people do not achieve what they want unless they work hard for it, friendship specially having close relationships with my friends as people cannot do studies without having any friends, creativity as people cannot think and write of anything without not being creative, safety as if people do not think about their safety, then when they will be in danger or they may even die, and independence because if people are not given independence, then the world would be filled with slaves and the slaves would had to work accordingly to their bosses which would not be fair on the those people who are being treated as slaves as everybody in the world has got the right to lead their own lives by themselves.
- Goals:
My long term goals are that during this Easter Break which is three weeks of holiday I will take ten days to complete my V Leader assignment and finish it by 10 April 2012 and another ten days to complete my Marketing Assignment complete it by 20 April 2012 and prepare for my exam and complete it end of April 2012. I will research, collect, and then finish reading those 10 journal articles that relates with my Marketing Assignment by 20 April 2012. However, I will expand my knowledge through reading those articles thoroughly, so that I understand which articles will be relevant and which one goes with my assignment. Another long term goals are, achieving the graduation certificate in July 2012 and then becoming a successful businessmen after I join a job related with business and to make my own hospital and run that.
However, my short term goals are, to go to Spain only for three months this summer to visit and explore that place and play cricket for only two hours each day only for one month.
- Implementation:
The action steps that will be taken to attain the long term goals mentioned in Part 3(c) are to make a timetable based on how many hours should I allocate on the V Leader assignment, so that I could complete the entire assignment within ten days and also on the Marketing assignment, so that I could complete it on time. However, if I see that by maintaining that timetable I am falling behind in one of the subject, then I will try to increase a bit less amount of time on that subject and less amount of time on another subject. This is how I will move myself ahead as I want to be in a position where I could complete my assignment very quickly and this will help me to complete my coursework’s on time which will lead me to being graduated in July 2012.
To become a successful businessman I would try to compete myself with other successful business people that is by joining a business related job, work for many years, and then finally gain the experience of how a business at a hospital could be run successfully, then open up my own hospital and run that hospital according to the experience that I would have been developed.
On the other hand, the action steps that would be taken to achieve the short term plans mentioned in Part 3(c) are to visit Spain only for three months, so that I could visit that country, travel all over that country and give a tour to explore the beauty of Spain. I would plan to travel, but before travelling I would first look for a job, work really hard, and then with the hard earned money I would plan to go to Spain. To play cricket for only two hours each day per month I would look for a cricket club who will take me for a month and train people only for a month, so that I could practice playing cricket over there and learn how to play it as well.
PART FOUR
- Personal Model:
- The effect that multiple intelligence, my leadership potential, T-P Leadership Questionnaire: An Assessment of Style, communication apprehension, and my personal vision has on leadership is that if there are complex problems then it will be difficult, and my personal vision will be difficult to lead our lives as a leader, because it will take more time to fix the problems and people will get frustrated and not support for what I will do as a leader and try to look for another leader, another is I usually don`t get what I want most of the time, because whatever I want I always get something different or unexpected so this will have a negative impact on me as a leader, the other thing is that if I have a poor outcome in my studies, then it will be difficult to lead as a leader as people will think that my brain is filled with bad ideas and they will think that I do not have any knowledge on how to run a company as a leader and the company may not even hire me for managers post, another is if I confess my mistakes in front of my supervisor then later in the future as a leader people will think that I always lie and they may think that they need another leader in their company, and finally the other is I evaluate what other people says when they say to see how much do they stick to what they say compared to what they actually do.
The effects that has on my leadership was negative as I red clicked a person once last week as I had lot of workload to do within less period of time, however when playing the first scenario I green clicked a person a lot as I agreed with the manager a lot and also in a scenario where I had to pass an idea on how to reduce tension by right clicking on the idea to pass it this had a positive effect as I have agreed with the manager, and the behaviour of the people were tensed as I red clicked on the person so that they work seriously.
The effects that the unique identity, achievement, creativity, safety, and independence has on leadership is positive as nobody can copy me as I can do three extraordinary things at once, however the effects on the long term and short term goals have negative impact as I do not think that I will be able to graduate this year as I am having hard time to study and understand the lecturers in the class and my dream of going to Spain won`t work as hardly I can travel to other countries as whenever I plan to travel to other countries something always important comes up and I end up living on that same country where I have started my life, my core values which are achievement, friendship, creativity, safety, and independence as a leader is positive as I achieved everything that I want in my life as I successfully accomplished all of the above.
The effects that I had as group work which was done in the lab as a leadership it was positive, because I have learned how a leader should be when they are at a working field and by playing the scenarios I had a good understanding on how to actually play each scenarios and what I had to do. Also, by practicing each of the scenarios at least five times I was clear enough on how to actually play each of the scenarios.
The effect that I had on the RE-ACT thing was negative as whatever I am, it will never help me to improve myself and stand in front of the people, and if I don`t change then people may take advantages of me which will lead me not doing the things that I wanted to do or if something negative happens which I didn`t expect to happen then that thing might occur.
Overall, whatever I have mentioned above the relationships that they have amongst all of the elements mentioned in the personal model is that it shows that I am a person who can lead his own life alone as long as nobody interferes with my life and something always positive happens.
- Personal Theories:
Theory-in-Use and Espoused Theory:
The theorists Chris Argyris and Donald Schön suggest that people have 'mental maps' of how to plan, implement and review their actions in given situations. It is these tacit, unexamined maps - a set of unconsciously held beliefs, assumptions and rules - which guide their actions, rather than the explanations that they give to themselves and others to make sense of what they do.
Argyris and Schön described the mental maps implicit in people's actions as "theories in use", and their consciously held beliefs and explanations about their actions as "espoused theories".
Based on the theory-in-use I actually start to think in my mind how will I actually do my assignments by drawing a mind map properly and within the time limit and based on espoused theory I would make a timetable based on what course works I have left, so that I could finish all of them within the time frame that has been provided to me from the University.
- Gaps between Theory-in-Use and Espoused Theory:
The gaps between theory-in-use and Espoused Theory is that whatever timetable I am making according to the course works I have left for my assignments or coursework’s there is always a gap as I always finish either one or two days after the deadline of whatever timetable I have made as whatever I have thought the way I am going to do my assignments the next day by drawing a mind map I get even better ideas on how I could actually could do my assignments properly. This happens almost every day and then I start to draw a different mind maps which leads to a delay in finishing my coursework on time. The other gap is that whatever the teacher makes me understand and what I have written after the teacher makes me understand I write something different, as I have lack of understanding in the class.
- Alignment(closing gaps) to create Effective Theory:
The way I can close the gaps between theory-in-use and espoused theory is by saying what I believe with actually how I behave, it is more of a single loop learning and that is by making a proper timetable for my coursework that I have left and finish it according to the deadline that I have made by being more faster and also making a mind map where I would include how I will finish all of my course works on time and I will do this by following the timetable that I have made and actually finish it accurately within the deadline by doing the coursework’s in the same way over and over again.

Comparing/Supporting Personal Effective Theory with External Emergent Perspective on Leadership:
Based on the theory of Walumba et al. (2008) my balancing process is where I collect relevant data`s before doing anything, for example before making any decision on how I am going to do my assignment, I collect lot of data`s from the internet and books and then take the relevant ones and see which one matches, I take those data`s that matches and put in my assignment this is how I balance.
Based on the theory of Northouse (2007) one of my strengths as transformational leadership was that I focused on the follower needs, values, and morale’s who were my group members at Barnet College as whatever problems we had faced my friends would always find a route to the problems and solve it, that is why I used to listen to them as they were really helpful as a follower and guided me how to solve any kind of problems and I was the only person who acted as a leader as I had the courage and confidence to stand in front of the teacher to explain our problems and used to tell my friends what the teachers want us to do in our course works. However, I used to support my friends by talking to a lecturer in such a way, so that the lecturer trusts me and gives me another opportunity to do the assignment again and the lecturer or me doesn`t say anything bad which would affect my friends morale’s.
Based on (Avolio, 2007) I am a follower who scores high compared with the ability who could achieve orientation i.e. achieve the placement of a follower who would follow the steps of a leader and other followers would follow me and I also take the huge risk, for example, if I do not complete my assignment on time I take the risk of going in front of my tutor specially the ones at Barnet College who are really strict to request an extension for my deadline knowing that they will provide me with an extension as they know that I have the ability to do the coursework that they have given me and hand my assignment on time.
Based on Dr. Rick Johnson (2009) I am a type of leader who could be defined as a personal unique model which is intangible as by making the current decision of what is happening now I can predict that what is going to happen in the near future, so by this way in the workplace I will know what people will want from me depending on what type of job I will be doing and with that experience I will be able to lead as a leader in the near future, because if I cannot lead my friends as a leader, then it is obvious that in the near future if I want to run a company as a manager and lead, then I won`t be able to lead as my employees won`t listen to me and go somewhere else to work where the manager is a successful leader.
Chris Argyris coined the terms "Double Loop Learning" and "Single Loop Learning. Single loop learning has often been compared to a thermostat in that it makes a "decision" to either turn on or off. Double loop learning is like a thermostat that asks "why" — is this a good time to switch settings? Are there people in here? Are they in bed? Are they dressed for a colder setting? — Thus it orientates itself to the present environment in order to make the wisest decision.
Chris Argyris coined the terms "Double Loop Learning" and "Single Loop Learning.
Single Loop learning as the most common style of learning is just problem solving – improving the system as it exists. This type of learning solves problems but ignores the question of why the problem arose in the first place.
The single loop learning is where I played each of the five scenarios five times and I always score 66% on each of the scenarios, however I started to play each of the scenarios in a different way, then I score 70% which means that I improved a little, but there was no explanation on how I scored higher than the second time when I played the scenarios as I just changed some of the ideas to pass it.
Double-Loop learning involves questioning the underlying assumptions behind techniques, goals and values. Double loop learning uses feedback from past actions to question assumptions underlying current views.
The double loop learning is where I get the feedbacks on how I played each of the scenarios of the total five scenarios and then I question myself that did I pass the right ideas, when I see I didn`t pass the right ideas then I ask myself some questions that why I didn`t pass the right ideas, then when I don`t understand I ask my tutor when they tell me what went wrong then I understand what went wrong. This is important as it is a skill that is essential for higher-order problem-solving and leadership. It is the ability to question and change the rules of a game.
- Overall, I have concluded whatever I have written on portfolios in the development plan which is mentioned below:
