DEMAND CHAIN MANAGEMENT.

DEMAND CHAIN MANAGEMENT . Introduction Demand chain management can be seen as a further development to the existing supply chain management theory. Demand chain is essentially a concept that focuses more on the market need than on the efficiency of supplying the product. This concept is becoming more relevant as manufacturers strive to be more competitive by adopting mass customization approach. To do this, manufacturers require information about what the customers want. This information will be transmitted to the production floor to produce according to customer needs. Due to the fact that customers may not be willing to reveal sensitive information or able to describe their wants in full details for the manufacturers to make timely and effective decision, demand chain management concept remains a challenge to implement. How can a manufacturer make full use of information, be it partial or full information to determine its operations management is the key factor to successful adoption. As this is a relatively new research that is being conducted, the research papers are relatively few compared to the rest of the well established concepts in operation management. Nevertheless, the decision to be made in this topic is about who should adopt demand chain management, what are the important factors that will make or break the implementation. 2. It has revolutionized the process of preparing documents and expedited its flow. However, with its colossal success and profits, the company has become cataleptic to an apparent threat in its environment - the existence of competition. As a result, since 1988, the company sustained losses that eventually led for it to file Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. What measures should Wang Laboratories adopt to avert this disaster that befell the company? ALTERNATIVE COURSES OF ACTION The company has filed bankruptcy under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code. ANALYSIS Wang Laboratories, Inc. came into the picture pioneering a new technology that exploited an untapped market. As a result, the

The ICANN Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) is procedurally flawed, its substantive rules are inconsistently applied, and if any pattern or logic can be ascertained from the rulings of its panels it would be that "might makes right" - dicussed

E-COMMERCE ASSESSED ESSAY 2001/20001 The ICANN Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) is procedurally flawed, its substantive rules are inconsistently applied, and if any pattern or logic can be ascertained from the rulings of its panels it would be that "might makes right". It still provides, however, the only meaningful forum for domain name disputes. Discuss. ABSTRACT The introduction of the UDRP to deal with domain name disputes has provided a valuable alternative to the courts. However possible evidence of inconsistency, bias and procedural errors will only undermine this reputation. In order to assess the merits of ICANN's UDRP procedure, these claims must be carefully investigated. INTRODUCTION Before, I dive straight into the substantive provisions of ICANN's UDRP; a little scene setting is in order. The Internet as we know it today is a still relatively new concept, major widespread public use has only been evident in the last six years. However, its origin dates back over 30 years, the Internet started life as primarily a military tool. Foreseeing communication problems in the event of war, the United States Department of Defence and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology created the ARPANET network. The essential idea of this technology was in the method of communication or 'routing' of information. Instead of direct communication between two stations,
