The school system will also have been redeveloped. Instead of having schools with students of mixed abilities and then setting them, the new system will have different schools for children with different abilities. The most intelligent students will attend a grammar school. These students will be expected to go to university so they will be worked very hard so that later in life they will be able to obtain the best jobs that are available. The students who are not quite as clever will go to a comprehensive school. These students will be worked to the best of their ability so that these students also get the opportunity to go to university. The rest of the children will go to a special school. At this school the children will be given lots of help to give them the best possible opportunities later in life. Students at all of these schools will have to take exams at the end of each term to determine whether they will stay at the school for the following term. This new school system will mean that the country will become much cleverer as a whole. I think this new system will motivate people to work because otherwise they would have to move to a lower school and their job opportunities in later life could also have been amended. I think this proves that the new system will be much more effective than the old one because it will encourage people to work.
Travel will have changed significantly, not only will there be new ways to travel but the old means of travel will have been improved. The motorways will be turned into
6 lanes on either side, this will reduce congestion. The speed limit for motorways will also have altered. Instead of being 70 miles per hour the new speed limit will be 100 miles per hour. This will allow people to get to places much faster than before but it will also cause problems. Since this is such a fast speed there will more accidents because more people will loose control of their cars and will be unable to regain control.
Railways will have become more reliable since there will be at least a train every fifteen minutes to anywhere you want to go and they will be also be much faster. This will encourage more people to use the trains since they will go four times faster than cars. This will mean that prices of train tickets will decrease. So because more people are using the trains, less people will travel by car therefore reducing the amount of pollution produced.
The trains will have been redeveloped to make them bigger and much faster. The trains will become much wider since the railway lines will have also become wider improving the safety of the trains. These trains will be made out of fibreglass so they will be much stronger and lighter. This will stop the trains being eroded away by the strong acid rain. The trains will have numerous seats since no one will be allowed to stand because the trains will go so fast. The trains will have been modernised; each seat will have a plasma flat screen TV in front of it that can double up as an integrated network computer monitor. On the train people will be given a complimentary drink and snack. The trains will be safeguarded by STG ‘s (special trained guards). This so that no one will be able to vandalise any of the equipment or thieve it.
I think these trains could end up disastrous. The trains will constantly have to be renewed so they have all the latest technology to keep their customers happy. The trains will cost more money to run than they will be worth. But will these new trains be any better than the slow unreliable trains of today?
The health system will have completely changed. There will no longer be the NHS but there will be separate companies funded by the government, running in different parts of the country. This will be so that each part of the country gets an equal amount of money and so that this money gets spent to benefit every person who needs it. There will also no longer be GP surgeries since these GP’s will work in the hospitals.
Every town that has a population of 15 000 or more will have its very own hospital; this is to reduce waiting lists. Each hospital will be linked together by a computer network so that patient files can be seen by any doctor anywhere in the country. This will make the health system much more efficient.
The hospitals will be very modern and colourful so as to make the patients feel more relaxed. The walls will be covered in impressive paintings of picturesque landscapes making the room feel more commodious. When in the waiting room the patients will be played calming music, which will make the atmosphere much more peaceful. The hospitals will have a distinctive smell of freshly picked flowers instead of the frightful smell of disinfectant and medicines.
These hospitals will have electronic check-in, which will be done by touch computers. This is so that there is no longer any time wasted by having every patient queuing at the reception desk to fill in their details. This will also make the check in system much more convenient for the doctors as all the patients’ information will automatically be sent to the doctor that the patient is going to see.
The doctors will be qualified in more than one area of medicine so that they can see a wider range of patents. The doctors will no longer be stereotyped for wearing white coats with stethoscopes hanging round their necks and having cold hands but will be seen as much more intelligent and caring people. This is because their attitudes towards the job will have changed. They will care more about trying to help and cure their patients rather than making money out of the job. The doctors will try to be friendlier to their patients by telling them jokes and having a general conversation with them.
Hospitals will no longer be places to dread but places of warmth comfort and help. If only the hospitals today could be serene as these but before the hospitals do become like this the world will also have to become a much friendlier place with hardly any violence. But will this ever happen?
