        “It feels like someone is pounding on my head with a hammer!” “Ugh, someone is squeezing the sides of my head in a vice.” “It feels like a tight rubber band is stretched around my head!” These are some things people say when they experience a headache. These headaches can be triggered by various reasons such as stress, hunger, bad cold, lights, etc. Because headaches are so universal, there are many ways to treat them. Some major steps to treat a headache are consulting a physician, taking over-the-counter medications, and carrying out home remedies.

        First of all, check with a physician when your headaches start to occur occasionally. During your visit to your physician, discuss the sensitivity of your headache and other feelings you experience. Then, the physician finds out what type of headache you have by doing various tests such as blood test or MRI. Many people have headaches due to tension, but headaches can also be symptoms of very serious problems. Thus, it is important to know the reason behind your headache to take the right medication. At the same time, your physician recommends prescribed medication. Then, ask your doctor about your allergies and reactions to over-the-counter drugs for headaches. Consequently, find out the suitable medications for you that you can purchase from a drug store.
