The Holy Spirit Is a Source of Revelation, Wisdom, and Power.
These are the things that God has made known to us through his Spirit. Even the innermost things of God are searched by the Spirit. Because nobody, except from a person's own spirit, can read their thoughts. The same is true in that only God's Spirit has access to His ideas (1 Corinthians 2:10-11).
God bestows the Holy Spirit on His people so that we may understand Him better.
Being God's Spirit, the Holy Spirit is aware of God's thoughts and shares them with Christians. The Holy Spirit enlightens Christians about their inheritance in Christ and the possibility of salvation. Similar to what the Apostle Paul said in his letter to the Ephesian believers, Christians have access to the power, revelation, and wisdom of the Holy Spirit. “I never stop pleading with the great Father, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, to grant you the Spirit of insight and revelation so that you may know him better. In order for you to understand the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his beautiful inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably tremendous power for us who believe, I beg that the eyes of your heart may be opened. When he raised Christ from the grave and sat him at his right side in the celestial realms, he used the same great strength.
All Truth, Including Knowledge of What Is to Come, Is Guided by the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit foretells future events. John 16:13 refers to the Holy Spirit as the "Spirit of Truth" because he leads believers to all truth. The Holy Spirit, according to what Jesus promised his followers, will only say what the Father speaks and will reveal what he hears. However, the Spirit of Truth will lead you into all truth when he arrives. He won't speak on his own; instead, he'll just say what he hears and inform you of what's to come. Because he will learn what he will reveal to you through me, he will exalt me. I possess all that belongs to the father.
The Holy Spirit Gives Spiritual Gifts to Believers.
Attributes of the Holy Spirit such as wisdom, knowledge, and power are manifested in the lives of believers for the good of others. More gifts are listed in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11.
The Holy Spirit Is a Seal in the Lives of Believers.
A seal served as a "legal signature" in the ancient world, attesting to ownership and authenticating the object that was sealed.
The Holy Spirit is the sign that we have been adopted as God's children.
Jesus assured his people of their salvation by sending the Holy Spirit to them.
The Holy Spirit is a deposit in our life that proves the veracity of Christ's message and our membership in Christ.
Much like how you might put down a deposit or down payment on a new car to ensure the dealer doesn't sell it to anyone else. “When you heard the message of truth, the good news of your redemption, you were also included in Christ. When you believed in Jesus, a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, was placed on you.”
When a Christian is weak, the Holy Spirit assists them and prays on their behalf.
There are times when we all feel helpless and unsure of what to do. The Holy Spirit prays for us in those situations and helps us align with God's will. In a similar manner, the Spirit supports us when we are weak. Although we are unsure of what to pray for, the Spirit himself speaks for us by groaning without words. And because the Spirit intercedes on behalf of God's people in line with God's will, he who examines our hearts also understands the thoughts of the Spirit (Romans 8:26-27).
The Holy Spirit regenerates and grants eternal life to believers.
In order to refresh, sanctify, and make us holy, the Holy Spirit operates in the lives of believers. Just as the Holy Spirit raised Christ from the dead, so too will He grant believers in Christ eternal life. "However, if Christ is in you, the Spirit gives life even though your physical body is doomed to death because to sin. And if you have the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead residing within you, then because of that Spirit's presence within you, the same God who resurrected Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies (Romans 8:10-11).
Believers who are sanctified by the Holy Spirit are empowered to produce good fruit in their lives.
The sanctification process is an ongoing aspect of the work of the Holy Spirit in a Christian's life. Believers will not engage in the immoral activities of the flesh but will instead display the virtues of the Spirit via the conviction and power of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:16-21). (Galatians 5:22-25).
The Holy Spirit can also act as a giver of gifts.
First Corinthians 12 outlines the spiritual talents bestowed upon believers so that we may work as the earthly body of Christ. The Spirit bestows upon us both big and minor gifts so that we may represent Him to the world as His ambassadors, displaying His grace and exalting Him.
Additionally, the Spirit serves in our life as a fruit producer.
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are among the fruits of His indwelling that He begins to gather in our life (Galatians 5:22-23). These are the results of the Spirit's presence in our lives, not the activities of our body, which is unable to bear such fruit.
The holy spirit provides us with courage and support while we combat sin.
You will be baptized with the Holy Spirit, Jesus stated before ascending to heaven. However, when the Holy Spirit descends upon you, you will be given strength. Acts 1:5-8.
And do not antagonize the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 4:30. There are forces more greater than ourselves within our body, or human nature. "Walk in the Spirit," says Paul, "and you will not gratify the lust of the flesh... Christ's followers have crucified their flesh, together with all of its cravings and passions. Let's walk in the spirit if we're going to live in the spirit, shall we? Galatians 5:16 through 25. We will be empowered by the Holy Spirit to resist the lusts of the flesh each time we are tempted.
The Holy Spirit is a helper who teaches and reminds.
The holy spirit provides wise counselling to Christ’s followers. Jesus Christ knew he was going to leave the disciples on their own and therefore was aware that the holy spirit would remain as a helper and advocate to remind them of his teachings. Like in John 14:26 Jesus told his disciples, “The holy spirit, whom the father will send in my name, he will teach you all the things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”
The holy spirit convicts the world of sin.
Other than providing wise counsel, the attorneys and judges provide evidence to convict criminals. In a similar fashion, the holy spirit will prove the sin, righteousness, and judgement of the world. “Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I don’t get away, the helper will not come for you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment” (John 16:7-8).
The holy spirit dwells in Christians and fills them.
The manifestation of God in the lives of Christians is via the holy spirit. This is revealed in the book of 1st Corinthians 3:16 that says “Do you know that you are God’s temple and that God’s spirit dwells in you.”
