Ukrainians forced to cross border for work

I think the connection between this article, the lectures Macro Economics & Law and the literature I have read for the course is the topic of free movements of persons. In the article you can read about the Schengen visa-free zone. The Schengen Agreement provided for the removal of systematic border controls between the participating countries. The first member states were Germany, Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Netherlands and was signed in 1985. The agreement is named after the town where it was signed, Schengen. Schengen is a town in Luxembourg. The Schengen area currently consists of twenty-eight countries. All countries of the European Union and Island, Norway and Switzerland as non-EU states are member of the Schengen Zone. Only Ireland and the United Kingdom opted out of Schengen's border control arrangements, while participating in certain provisions relating to judicial and police cooperation.

I do not think the article is very educational, because you have to know all basics about the agreements of Ukraine and Poland. The article is quite short and too superficial. But I learned a lot through the research I did with the literature and the lecture of Macro Economics & Law. I looked up information about the member states of the European Union and about the Schengen agreement. This article can be used to illustrate the advantage for a strong partnership like the European Union is. The Schengen Agreement makes it very easy to travel inside the Schengen area for all citizens.
