Introduction:

The city of Orlando is the county seat of Orange County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 185,951. A 2004 U.S. Census Estimates population count gave the city had a total population of 205,648. The city's population may reach 220,000 in 2006. It is the sixth-largest city in Florida, and its largest inland city. It is also at the head of the state's third-largest metropolitan area, behind Miami: Fort Lauderdale, West: Palm Beach and Tampa: St. Petersburg.

Additionally, Orlando is home to the second largest university in Florida, the University of Central Florida.

The city is best known for the tourist attractions in the area, particularly the nearby Walt Disney World Resort, which is in the Reedy Creek Improvement District . Other area attractions include SeaWorld and Universal Orlando Resort. Despite being far from the main tourist attractions, downtown Orlando has recently seen much redevelopment, with many more projects currently under construction or planned. One of the oldest attractions in this area is Gatorland. Orlando sees an estimated 52 million tourists a year. Orlando is the 2nd largest city in the country for number of hotel rooms.

The city's nickname is "The City Beautiful", though plans are underway to change this title through a local contest. Its symbol is the fountain of Lake Eola. The current mayor is Buddy Dyer.

Why Orlando?:

You may be asking "Why Orlando?", here's your answer. In my point of view, Orlando is as it is today due to its past settlement. It was a regular population, a regular town. But its surroundings, its geopolitical location and its geological site is all that really mattered to business man's. It was a flat plan place to build in the World's best attractions for adults, children, elderly ones. It was a differentiated climate, warm and sunny. It was located in a zone where expansion could be the right investment bringing in money from all over the World. Orlando soon became the place where every American family had to visit or it wouldn't become a real American family without seeing the magic's and wonders of DisneyWorld and soon Universal Studios.

On the other hand, Orlando had a sparse area which could have a large airport capacity to hold as many planes as possible coming from every part of the World; Asia, Americas, Europe, Africa, Oceania. And as soon as they felt this family spirit, Orlando became the biggest and most wanted tourist and investment foundation to many, many companies, especially TNC's.
