I sat down to my warm cup of coffee, TV on BBC and a newspaper in my hand I felt calmer than I did five minuets ago, well I must have been fuming as my hands were still shaking in distress. After breakfast I went back upstairs and put on my work clothes and looked at the time, it was 8:25am and I had plenty of time to get to work for 9:00am, as I had loads of time I sat down and started to watch TV. It wasn’t long till obviously I fell into a light nap, as I was very tired because of the late night I had the day before.
I couldn’t believe it was 8:45am, I only had 15 mins to get to work ‘which was 25 mins away.’ I hurried to the key draw in the kitchen, grabbed my keys then scurried to my brand new pride of joy, my Pergeot 206cc. I loved it so so so much. It was incredible. I knew I had 10 mins. I though I might just put you to the test, ‘looking at my new car with an intimidating stare.
I got in and put it in gear as quick as I could. I was off and as quick as I expected about 40-45 mph. as I reached Apex Corner, my need for speed took over, my car totally took over me a way I never thought possible. I revved up the engine, my fingertips were anxiously twitching. GREEEENNNNNN! The sensation! 10, 20, 30, 5O, CRUNCH THE SPLAT. A wheel hit me in the face, well that’s what I was told, and apparently a motor cycle had collided into the side of me. It wasn’t a green it wasn’t even amber, it was my mind. I was in hospital for 3 weeks and in intensive care.
“So you were late for work and you were stressed?”
“Well yes and no, I was extremely late and when I started to drive my week old car I got carried away”, “I don’t no what came over me?”
“And what you need to take into consideration is how many laws you broke in 10 minuets”, “speeding, driving without a seatbelt, jumping a traffic light and driving carelessly!”
“I’m sorry officer, I had no idea”
“There is nothing I can do apart from give you a £2000 fine, and a 1 year driving ban.”
I broke down in tears.
