CW2 Quality Function Deployment CW2

Quality Function Deployment (QFD) Vs. Requirements Analysis Introduction Organisations use development methods when developing a product or a service, to help them deliver the product/service efficiently and also to help them keep cost of production to a minimum. There are quite a few development methods depending on what the project is, these methods are available for companies to use to increase their productivity. The development methods I will be examining in this essay are Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and Requirements Analysis. Quality Function Deployment is a method used in production which is aimed at meeting the needs of the customer whilst maintaining quality throughout the production phase.Requirements Analysis is a method which is used in software development to understand what the customer's needs and expectations are from a proposed computer system. Requirements Analysis Requirements analysis, also called requirements engineering, is the process of determining user expectations for a new or modified product. These features, called requirements, must be quantifiable, relevant and detailed. Requirements analysis is an important aspect of project management. After user requirements are captured in the form of interviews, research, questionnaire and surveys, the requirements are analysed, modelled and are documented usually by a Requirements Analyst before

ERP adoption and implementation.

ABSTRACT This report contributes to the understanding of ERP adoption, implementation and to avoid the possibilities of failing after implementation. It examines the readiness for change in implementing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) technology, which continues to challenge and drive towards change in many organizations. However very often many organizations fail, partially because potential users resist the change. This report presents an extension to TAM (technology acceptance Model) and TFB (theory of planned Behaviour) and empirically examines it in an ERP implementation environment. The study also integrates literature on technology acceptance, readiness for change in implementing ERP technology, as the main prescription for reducing the resistance to change. The study evaluated the impact of the positive attitude toward behavior (readiness for change) enhanced by two variables: perceived personal competence, organizational commitment, and two process outcome variables (perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEU)). A model to assess ERP readiness is developed based upon the premise that readiness for change is enhanced through the alignment of complementary factors occurring along following dimensions: technological usefulness, human competence, attitude, easiness of information, and managerial influence. (Ref 5) The quantitative research was

The auction plays a mediation role, in that it brings together suppliers and buyers and so determine prices. Aalsmeer Flower Auction has the largest trade building in the entire world, but this is the only advantage when it comes to attracting customers. An information system will be useful and will also be another advantage when implemented in the organisation. Information systems can help companies extend their reach to faraway places, offer new products and services, reshape jobs and workflow and profoundly change the way the conduct business (Laudon,

Knowledge Management

Introduction There is no generally accepted definition of Knowledge Management, not in academia or applied on an organisational level. The many various conflicting definitions of Knowledge Management often deter organisations from undergoing Knowledge Management projects. There is definitely no one-fit all approach to Knowledge Management within organisations, it is important that organisations choose a Knowledge Management approach that supports their cultural environment. This framework should be comprehensive and concrete. The first part of this report reviews influential literature on the subject. The second part of the report will attempt to apply my understanding on the subject to answer a number of questions relevant to an organisation who might be interested in Knowledge Management. These include why knowledge management is important, the benefits of knowledge management and the challenges to knowledge management. Part 1 Literature Review of Knowledge Management There is an abundance of literature on the topic of Knowledge Management and what it entails. Within the literature there are numerous different definitions of Knowledge Management, many varying significantly. Instead of listing all the different views (this often leaves people more confused and overwhelmed) I have decided to investigate the two most influential texts regarding knowledge
