´╗┐Communication & Business Business Plan Far Horizon is a company that is performing well and has been successfully trading over the past 15 years. They started off by manufacturing and selling their own sailing dinghies. From this success for the last 8 years they started to manufacture and sell small yachts. Various clients require what far horizon has to offer as they sell such great products and reasonable prices. The target market is people of all ages ranging from young children to the elderly so there is a very large base the products are aimed at. Far Horizon does not have many employees but comprises of a great, hardworking and friendly team of 15 full time and 2 part-time employees. The feel of the company is great and everyone gets on extremely well, this relationship allows for the company to function well and keep up a good working system. Now the greatest opportunity has been spotted and the potential to design and create a much more substantial 4 to 6 berth seagoing sailing yacht. Far Horizon hopes to become a key manufacturer and retailer of the 4 to 6 berth sea-going sailing yacht market. If they wish to do so they must invest in a specialist design team to be able to create the yacht and mainly for the very expensive and most crucial part that is the mould which costs £160,000. The decision of which method to take to manufacture the yacht must be decided, the two options are; either in-house which would be extremely expensive to start up as money would have to spent on various items such as new computers, new machinery, possibly more staff, etc. This is would be an extremely costly option as many things would have to be bought to be able to design and produce the yacht, also there would be many hidden costs that would be discovered as you go along.
