How to be a Nerd Like Matthew Emmons
Constant worry and stress. Busy twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week. From keeping good grades in four AP classes to having no social life outside of soccer and chess and school and work, my work seems to never end. Being a nerd like me takes a lot of hard work and determination to complete all tasks represented every day.
Being me is a special art that only a special few can achieve or attempt to imitate. The first thing to know about being me is setting your priorities straight. You must have no life and study for five hours everyday for the four AP classes that you have and make sure you are able to finish it all before two in the morning the next day. Then, you must be able to wake up in four in the morning to take a shower and eat breakfast and make your sister lunch and walk about a mile and a half to the bus that comes at six fifteen. From almost getting no sleep and doing lots of homework, it seems like I couldn’t schedule anything else in. Well I can and I do. I teach chess on Mondays and Wednesdays and play soccer Tuesdays and Thursdays. Also, I teach chess on Wednesdays and Fridays and coach soccer before practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays. With all these items in mind, it may seem impossible to do all the tasks listed above and be able to be sane and hold myself together. Well just look at me, I guess it is possible to fit everything in (since I sleep in classes in which we have to read, listen, or do nothing in which I can not keep my mind entertained and start to fall asleep and snore in class, sorry Mrs. Cerrone and all others that this may apply). But doing all these activities and wasting your time on overachieving doesn’t make anyone me, you have to act and behave like me too.
