I just kept running and running. I didn’t have a care in the world apart from getting away. I ran through the trees looking behind me every few seconds. My heart was beating like the speed of lightning. All of a sudden I collapsed on the wet and muddy ground. Dirty water from a puddle splashed up on to my face. I opened my eyes, it had become nighttime. I must have fallen unconscious. It was dark with only the light from the moon shining through the trees. The trees were all around me staring down at me. My body ached as if I had just been beaten up, punched and kicked in every part of me. There was a rustle in the bushes behind me, I sat up swiftly and turned around. I couldn’t see anything there. I began to stand up when I heard it again. Whatever it was was getting closer and closer by the second. I managed to stand up; my body was painful, but I was willing to risk a few minor injuries rather than having my life taken away by what could be a murderer. I wondered which way to go. Turning in a full three hundred and sixty degrees looking around to see if I could see anyone or anything that could help me or that was going to harm me. I couldn’t see anything so I just walked straight ahead.

I had walked for about fifteen to twenty minutes when I saw something on the floor. The light from the moon was reflecting off it so it caught my eye, as it was shiny. I picked it up to see what it was. I screamed. There was blood dripping all over it; it was all over my hands. I dropped the knife and ran as fast as I could. I heard the knife clunk on the ground.
