My Mother

A mother is the person that brings you into this world. When you are an infant, she is the one that makes certain you are always fed, dry, and happy. After a few years, she teaches you how to walk, how to dress yourself, and how to sing your ABC’s. She is the one that pays attention to your favorite snacks and surprises you with them in your lunch box. She is the one waiting at your bus stop with open arms ready to hug you and take you home. She teaches you how to share and most importantly, she teaches you that she is there for you whenever you may need her.  My definition of a mother is my mother not only because she did everything I mentioned, but because of all of the valuable lessons she has taught me and the emotional and physical support she has provided for me.

Ever since I was a child, my mother has taught me to treat people the way I would have liked to be treated. She had taught me to believe in the good in people and to not hold grudges. I learned to never let miniscule problems agitate me and to let these obstacles blow over. She has always been a great conversationalist in that she empathizes with the speaker and I have tried to take on that quality for myself.
