Of Mice And Men

Chapter 1 - George

Physical

George is an average height, and is thinner, smaller and less powerful than Lennie.

Mental

George is a very clever, quick thinking person

He damn near drowned before we could get him out. An’ he was so damn nice to me for pullin’ him out. Clean forgot I told him to jump in. Well, I ain’t done nothing like that no more”.

  • George enjoys Lennie’s company. The Boss finds it unusual for two men to be travelling around together, and asks questions. “I said what stake you got in this guy? You takin’ him pay away from him?”

“Well I never seen one guy take so much trouble for another guy”.

  • Lennie makes George feel important as George is responsible for Lennie’s safety.

  • George likes Lennie as he keeps him company, and enjoys having the responsibility and control of him.
