Introduction

Task 2 Design Software Features Software Features Needed Why is this needed? 1. I must be able to input text. I have been asked to create a text based spreadsheet, so that I can enter descriptions for income and expenditure items. 2. I must be able to copy and paste. I need to insert two tables from shared resources on to my spreadsheet. Copy and paste functions make this task easier and less prone to error. 3. I must be able to make a system that works out all the totals every time someone changes the information. Stuart told me there must be a system that works out all the totals every time someone changes the information. It will make it easier and quicker if someone wants to add more information so they will not have to manually calculate the new totals, with the risk of errors. 4. I must be able to validate cells. I have been told that to create a system so no one can change the table so there are more than 50 floats in the float parade. Validation can be set up to automatically prevent this. ...read more.

I did this so it would stand out and look different from all the other tables on the spreadsheet. 13. I selected cells G3, H3, I3 and J3; I then clicked on the fill button at the top of the tool bar and selected bright green. I did this so it would stand out and look different from all the other tables on the spreadsheet. 14. I filled the money left over table in light blue by selecting fill at the top of the toolbar and selecting light blue. I did this so it would stand out and look different from all the other tables on the spreadsheet. 15. I gave all the tables a thick box border by selecting each table one by one and clicking on the border button at the top of the tool bar and selecting thick box border. I did this to make my tables neater and tidier and to separate the tables from one another. 16. I typed in a title 'Lancre Festival - Income and Expenditure' in size 14 Arial saying Lancre festival income and expenditure in cell B1. I did this so people would know what the page was about. ...read more.

This showed unit costs for items and the sub totals for line items. 4. Must show all payments received Y I showed all payments received in the income table. 5. Must be clear which items are income and which are expenditure Y The expenditure table is filled in red and the income table is filled in green. Both tables are clearly labelled. 6. Must show the current total received Y I showed the total received in the income table. 7. Must show total spent Y I showed total spent in the expenditure table. 8. Must be possible to change number of items Y I made formulas so when you change the number of items the rest of the data will change accordingly. In making Stuart's changes and as part of my testing I proved this. 9. Must be able to add new income and new expenditure Y I left space at the bottom of the table to add more income and expenditure items. 10. Final total must stand out Y The final total is highlighted orange and the text is bolded. 11. Must not allow more than 50 floats Y I validated the number of floats cell so the cell will not accept more than 50 floats. ?? ?? ?? ?? GCSE Short Course 1 ...read more.
