Mon stage
Pour mon stage, je suis allée à ‘Reginald Maude Ltd’ qui se trouve à Halifax. Cette entreprise travaille avec des électriciens et des ingénieurs , mais pour la plupart du temps j’ai travaillé sur l’ordinateur. Mon collège a organisé le stage pour moi, cependant j’ai pu écrire mes intérêts sur un formulaire. Malheureusement, je n’étais pas intéressé par ce travail car je ne suis pas forte en informatique.

Quality of writing
The candidate has used a range of tenses throughout the piece and a wide range of contructions. The standard of French in this piece is all right, but there are many errors throughout. There are mistakes with the dates: « du deux février au six février », instead of « du deuxième février au sixième février ». The two sentences « Le but du stage était apprendre comment ce qu’il est de travailler dans un bureau. J’ai appris comment les entreprises faire fonctionner et beaucoup au sujet de Microsoft Excel. » read unnaturally, as if they have been translated using an online translator. Candidates should avoid contructions such as « J'espère que », which take the subjuctive, or otherwise use the « J'espère + infinitif » construction, i.e. changing the incorrect sentence « J’espère je ne dois pas » into « J’espère de ne pas devoir ».
Level of analysis
The level of analysis in this essay is appropriate for a GCSE level essay. The candidate is able to express her opinions clearly and using complex language: « Pour ma part, ce n’était pas intéressant et parfois très difficile. Il y n’a pas beaucoup de variété parce que j’étais toujours avec l’ordinateur ». The candidate gives a lot of detail about what she got out of the week and what she learned, about the world of work and about herself. This is very good, although perhaps there could be some expansion, for example, when she writes that she is now more sure that she would like to be a writer.
Response to question
The candidate has written a short essay on her work experience week at school. It is generally well written, follows a clear structure and gives sufficient detail about the tasks she had to do, the people she worked with and her opinions of the work, and what she would like to do in the future. This is generally done well, however there is room for elaboration in places and there are grammatical mistakes throughout.
