Abortion Explain what Christians believe about human life being sacred. As Christians we believe that human life is sacred. But what does it mean? How does it describe humans? Well sacred has three meanings. Sacred means holy; we are a creation of God and we are holy because he made us. Godlike as we are made in the image and likeness of God. Precious because everything God creates is precious and as we are the most powerful beings on earth we are most precious of all. "Let us make man in our own image, in the likeness of ourselves. God created man in the image of himself" (Genesis 1:26-27) This passage shows us how we resemble God and in essence life should be respected. "Whoever attacks human life, in some way attacks God himself" (Pope John Paul II in Evanglium Vitae number 9) ...read more.

God decides when our life comes to an end. The list goes on, capital punishment, etc. This is all the terminating of a life that God has given us as a gift to protect and protect. Jesus touched lepers, showed mercy to the poor and spoke with prostitutes. In other words he protected life. Killing a life is undoing Jesus' work. In conclusion Christians believe that human life is sacred because we are made in the image of God. We are holy, Godlike and precious. We are the most loved beings on the earth and we are all unique. Christians are strongly against abortion, euthanasia, murder and capital punishment. Our lives are not our own. God has a plan for every one of us and we are here to protect and preserve our life until we go back to Him. "Truly is say to you as you did it to the least of my brethren, you did it to me" (Matthew 25:40) ...read more.
