slamic Relief is dedicated to alleviating the poverty and suffering of the worlds poorest people.

Islamic relief also responds to humanitarian disasters extending from small crisis's to larger scale shelter, relief and development programmes.

Islamic relief will strive to ensure that the needy do not become dependant on begging as Muhammad (s.a.w) said:

'By Him in whose hands my life is. It is better for anyone of you to take a rope and cut the wood and carry it over his back and sell it (as earning his living) rather than ask a person for something and that person may give him or not' (Hadith-Bukhari)

Islamic relief operates in many countries; some for example are Afghanistan, Albania, Bangladesh, Bosnia, Chechnya, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen etc.

Islamic relief ensure to direct aid where it is needed most in the world, it is able to meet needs quickly and efficiently. It has set up many projects to help people in need. They set up key projects that are proven to work great emphasis is placed on getting a community back to its feet, for example, Islamic relief will give 'long term interest free loans' that will enable afflicted people to rebuild their business and communities.

Islamic relief are also organising Waqfs, so that long-term projects can be better for the poor. Donations are gathered together and invested through halal projects and their return profits that are then used to help the poor. This also helps to reduce costs involved for Islamic Relief.
