Then why do I agree with the death penalty? You may ask yourselves, and my answer is this. People who are willing to put innocent human beings lives at risk for their own personal wellbeing shouldn’t be regarded as descent human beings. I believe they should be treated as the lowest form of a living organism. Why should these people be allowed the ‘luxury’ of being given food and a bed and be allowed to wash themselves for as long as they live the rest of their lives in prison? Why should they be allowed to live? After all, they were willing to lose everything they had in the first place. I for one would like to know that these cruel merciless people cannot cause any more pain in the world and have finally been put to a stop for good, and have suffered the punishment they deserve.
After all, Jesse Venture once said “How come life in prison doesn’t mean life?” Until it does we’re not ready to do away with the death penalty. Stop thinking in terms of “punishment” for a minute and think in terms of safeguarding innocent people from incorrigible ‘murderers’.
I believe the death penalty should be introduced to this country as it can offer us many different things. One of these things of course is justice. Yes I know that taking away these people lives doesn’t restore all the pain and suffering they’ve brought into this world and to other people around them, but I for one would be very reassured indeed in knowing that they have suffered the sever punishment they deserve.
Another reason why I believe in the death penalty is that it makes examples of these people, letting people around the world know that we for one as a nation do not stand for the acts of terrorism, but most importantly it lets these monstrous people know what they’re letting themselves in for if they are willing to commit themselves to these horrific acts.
So, for the people I mentioned at the beginning of this. The people who feel that the death penalty is not an effective form of punishment, I will tell you this:
A study last year by researchers at Emory University in Atlanta examined nearly 6,000 death sentences imposed in the USA from 1977 through to 1996. The authors compared changes in murder rates in 3,000 U.S. counties to the likelihood of being executed for murders in that county. They found that murder rates declined in counties where capital punishment was imposed. The researchers said a statistical formula suggesting that each execution saved the lives of 18 potential victims.
So, for the people who thought the death penalty can’t make a difference in the world, what do you think now?
The most important reason of all why I believe in the death penalty however is this. Taking away the lives of these indecent human beings can at least make a small step towards ending terrorism. Of course there is the worry that there will always be terrorism, but at least knowing that if the death penalty was imposed the people who were caught and brought to this country wouldn’t do any more harm whatsoever would at least be some reassurance, and a reassurance that also sends out a strong message as well.
We Wont Stand For Terrorism.
