Halloween It all started on Friday morning. Several students at Sulphur Springs middle school notice the sky didn't like quite right. The sky was still dark, like the midnight sky, but the moon was shining like the sun. what we didn't know wasn't expected to happen.I was Friday, October thirty-first Halloween day. When seventh period came around as always the teachers took us outside while the teachers looked at the sky with confused on their faces. The other students thought it was cool that it was still dark because now they could go trick-or-treating right after they got home from school. We thought it was another blackout and that the lights would be back on soon. Hours later, the lights were still shutoff and the other students were starting to get worried and I could tell the teachers were frightened and told us 'don't panic.'The room was pitch black, Maryanne and I sneaked out of the room to find out the mystery of the blacked out Halloween. It seemed we were in luck. The first clue was a piece of black silked cloth in the hallway, the second clue would be in the basement. I was looking through the old dusty boxes down, when I glanced at a tiny box stuck near the stair-rail against the wall. I thought my eyes were fooling me, but it wasn't a joke. It was a box from the old days. Inside there were old pictures and an old folded up newspaper article. I unfolded the article, this is what the article said in bold words,'Beward! The carey's family are back and here to stay', When suddenly something rushed up the stairs, almost knocking me off the edge of the stairs. As I got back up, I noticed that Maryanne was still searching and strangely didn't see, nor heard what ran up the stairs. I stormed out of the basement door. I repeatedly ran through the darkness and the moonlight that shined through the windows of the hall.Finally, I tripped and fell on the floor when I discovered a wrapper from earlier that day. Then I remember, that the wrapper belonged to Arnold Carey because he always tares his candy bar right down the middle. 'Arnold Carey,you are so busted',I said to myself. About the time I got up Maryanne was running down the hallway, crying 'Are you okay?',I could tell by the tone of her voice she was worried to death.'What happened!',Maryanne striked me.'Well' I started 'I know who's responsible.' 'Who, who! Tell me please' she begged, 'Arnold Carey', I said proudly. 'Ohh, that guy' As we walked back to our homeroom. When we got back into the room we asked the teacher If we could do something important. the teacher said yes. By the time we got to Arnold homeroom. He was pouring with sweat, 'looking pretty guilty ain't ya' Maryanne blurred out.'Maryanne not now....Aronld I need to talk to you.' The three of us stepped out into the hallway. I told Arnold everything that we though we found the person was him. At first, Arnold denied hi crime of chose. I started thinking I've known this guy for the longest time. I remembered one time and blurred out 'Mr.timothy timwell, your cuddly teddy bear' As my voice got louder. Arnold's mouth dropped,'ok,ok, I did it! I shut off all the lights in this school and used back magic to continued the darkness of the night, happy now,' he said grumpily. Everything turned back to normal and everyone had a happy but safe Halloween. I took a deep breath and said to myself 'I solved the myserty of the the blacked out Halloween.'
