"Remy, we've got to tell you something." James said, leading the way towards the great hall. "What is it?" Remus asked, yawning widely. He half wished to be back in the hospital wing, blissfully asleep. "James saw someone last night.." Peter said, running a hand through his red hair. "A cloaked figure, at the center of the first floor. They were pouring some black liquid into a crack..Then they just, disappeared.." James whispered as they passed a group of third year girls. "It was around midnight." "I take it you all were searching for more hidden passageways again?" Remus asked, grinning. He was trying to lighten the mood a little; he needed it desperately. But his mind was ticking away, -what was that person really doing..?- he wondered. "Yeah..but still." Sirius sighed. "Maybe we should tell Dumbledore?" Peter suggested. "No..not yet." James said, shaking his head. "Then we'll keep watch on that area. Whatever they're up to, we'll be able to find out, somehow." Said Sirius. "But we can't try to interfere," Remus began, catching a determined look on Potters face, "like Sirius said. We wait, and we watch." They entered the great hall and sat down for breakfast. Remus was ravenous, and quickly gulfed down whatever food fell prety to his fork and spoon. "Lily, are you alright?" Asked James. Lily shrugged slightly, keeping her gaze away from the food. She looked a bit nauseus. "Don't really have an appetite today is all." she said. "Probably ate to much of that candy mum sent me." "Aye..be careful next time then, eh?" James grinned. The next several days went by like any other; except of course, the four young Marauders. They stayed up each night until one in the morning, doing their nightly rounds of Hogwarts, and the area of the first floor James had seen the cloaked figure. ...read more.

Known for her caring nature, and un-matched imagination, she had the ability to bring light, to the darkest of places. A true Hufflepuff. April Glover." Everyone raised their glasses, except the usual Slytherin crew, and spoke. "April Glover." Everyone chorused. After that, nothing was the same. Many students were scared out of their wits; and several had been recooperating from April's funeral. Half the school had fallen ill, and two days before the end of the week, Sirius Black collapsed in Transfiguration. -I should have given Snape the potion sooner..- Lupin thought to himself. -Then she would still be alive...all this would be over..- "You shouldn't blame yourself." Came Severus's voice. Lupin looked up. He scowled slightly, "You people are far to emotional for your own good." Remus narrowed his eyes, "A girl DIED Severus." he shouted. "You don't think I know that?" He said cooly, avoiding any need to spill out what he truly thought of the situation. "You must have mercury in your veins.." He spat icily. "Remus," Severus sighed in annoyance, "the problem with your kind, is that you let your emotions rule over logic. You, in particular, are half and half. Perhaps more so logic; but you still blame yourself for her death, because you did not come to me sooner, correct?" Remus nodded stiffly. "This is now. You cannot change the past; so don't dwell on it. If I had been you, I know I would have come to me earlier. But since you aren't, then it isn't surprising." he said with a note of confidence. Severus wasn't full of himself; but knew he was smarter than the usual eleven year old. "I am not cold blooded, Severus. I treasure having the friends I have, and what that requires is emotion. I know that I pray the price; I lose the pure need of logic in some situations. But I'm not about to shut out my emotions...not when I know I won't make a mistake when all this ends. ...read more.

Remus never saw Sirius smile so widely before. The entire school was relieved, happy and grateful. Gryffindor won the house cup; which Dumbledore announced. He gave praise to the young marauders, explained what had happened (James's story that is), and so ended another year at Hogwarts. Remus did end up telling Lily what happened. But he shouldn't have. She was now curious as to why he didn't want anyone else knowing. But what side tracked her; was the Severus had helped. Remus walked onto platform nine and three-quarters, and bid farewell to his friends. He would miss them dearly. End Year One.
