S.W.O.T Analysis
Mini evaluation of SWOT analysis
Over all there are some good strengths and opportunities if Planet pizza was situated in the proposed location. The fact that the area of Morden in general is a wealthy area is both a strength and opportunity and so there is interdependence. There is only No other pizza shop located in located also which means there is a gap in the market for yhis type of business. There is a chance to premium price due to lack of competition, and also the chance to experiment with lunch hours early on to increase revenue. However there are some drawbacks as it’s a small retailing town therefore not many people would know that we exist untill we send out our leaflets and the takeway results would be low as the hig-street is quite dull and not many people vist it.
The placement of Planet pizza is ideal for people coming out of the bus stations and thir jobs. The high disposable incomes of the people in Morden is quite high as it is one of the wealthiest parts of the country, and so the placement is ideal for profit related reasons.
MARKETING
Within Marketing there are many aspects which need to be considered. I have used a Spider wed to show what marketing consists of.
Competition
Advertising/promotion Target audience
Marketing
Segmentation
Distribution
Prices
Product development
The unique selling proposition for my service would be the well trained employee; therefore the service you will get would be the best. This business is market-oriented therefore the planning is based on the needs of the customer
The four P’s
Purpose/product – I products I will be selling will be Pizzas/dessarts/chips/soft drinks etc. The market I will be selling to is everyone, I will mainly aiming at people who work every day and are busy therefore they will order a pizza. Before allowing people to buy food from my business theres a lot to be done, this will include kitchen appliances, Oven, fridges, chairs and tables etc. I will be searching the Internet for this as I can order the oven from italy where its concidered as the best. I will buy a computer system for the business so as the cutomer tells you the product they want you can use the computer to process it, this is more effective and less time consuming, on the other hand I can just pay the onwer of planet pizza and he can get them all for me.
Place – I have chosen the place in Morden opposite the tune stataion where I will be renting out and I have phoned up the estate agency where they have confirmed with me that I can pay the rent monthly if that is how I chose to pay it, and I have. I will pay 1000 every month. The place was previouly a fish and chips shop and I have been given permission to refurbish it but they will have to see the plans before I go ahead incase I do anything drastic. The owner of Plannet pizza will design the shop and build it as it’s a part of his deal and will employ and train people so there are no problems when the shop opens.
Promotion – This includes advertising, sales promotions (e.g. special offers), and atmospherics (creating the right impression through the working environment). Public Relations are included within Promotion by many marketing people (though PR people tend to see it as a separate discipline), leaflets.
I have decided that I will be having a promotional opening and I will have people giving flyers around town offering them a free middium pizza, therefore people would find out about our new business and find about our other pizzas. I think people would regonise the shop as its already established therefore people would know what types of pizzas we offer and at what rate.
Prices – I feel that pricing need the most attention as if you have not priced the service or product the right price you will lose your customers. Since I am franchising the business all the prices have already been set however if I feel a product is too high or too low, I can change it. From my questionnaire I can see the all the products set by planet pizza are accurate therefore there’s no need for any changes. The entire products are supplied from JJ (cash and carry).

Advertising
Advertising is an essential factor in the prosperity of the business. Due to the fact that Morden is not a well-known for its high-street, the Pizza shop will requires much publicity to attract the custom of those in surrounding areas. £10 000 will therefore be spent on advertising. £4000 on the local newspaper, £5000 on distributing the leaflets
