Romeo and Juliet
“Romeo and Juliet” is a famous play written by William Shakespeare. It’s about love between two teenagers and it shows the changes in Juliet. It shows her change in character and the change in her relationships with her parents, the nurse and Romeo.
In the beginning of the story, Juliet is innocent, they keep saying how old she is and she listens to what her mum tells her, she agrees to marry Paris. She says that marriage would be an honour, “It is an honour that I dream not of.”In act 1 scene 3, Juliet doesn’t say a lot and is very quiet. When she meets Romeo she’s a completely different person, she keeps kissing him. Although Juliet is quiet and innocent to begin with we find out she isn’t shy because she kisses Romeo twice. She finds out that Romeo is supposed to be her enemy and she says she loves him, “my only love sprung from my only hate! Too early seen unknown, and known too late! Prodigious birth of love it is to me, that I must love a loathed enemy.”Juliet admits she loves Romeo. Juliet kills herself because she thinks Romeo is dead. You can clearly see the change from when she is talking to her mother to when she is with Romeo it’s like the loses control, she goes from being innocent and agreeing to whatever her mother wants to kissing Romeo even though she knows she isn’t supposed to. Juliet changes a lot so quickly, this would be difficult for an actress especially because Juliet is actually young but usually the actors that play her are older than her in the story.
