We were set the task of conveying some sort of message to a target audience. It can be any message that we choose, as long as it has a specific audience, and is designed to suit that audience.

It would be possible to create a leaflet by hand, however, doing so would not be time, or cost effective, as I would either have to make each one by hand, or photo copy them. And this would take a lot of time or money.

After a lot of consideration, I have decided to use Publisher to create a web site, as it will have a much larger threshold audience, and I will be able to use more varied ways of conveying a message.

Subject

        I have decided to base my web site on one a hobby of mine, so I will base it on one of the following: -

SNES emulation, which would be good for a web site, as I will be able to have downloads, and reviews of my favorite ROMs on it. This site would also suit polls, as I could have polls on the "best" games.

Blading, which I could take some photos of myself blading with a digi-cam. Then I could post them on the site.

Football, which I could also take some photos of myself playing, with a digi-cam. Then post them on my site.

Computer games, which I could write reviews for, and have polls on.

MSN Messenger, which I could have utilities for, and pranks for and contacts for.

Audience

        My target audience will be people around my age, maybe 10-20, mainly boys, so I will have to use language that will suit their vocabulary. Also using technical terms that most of these people would know, such as ROMs and flooders.

Decision

        I have decided to make my web site on SNES emulation, as it will be a good subject to do as web site on, and I will be able to use my skills to the maximum.

Specification

1. I will break the text up, with pictures, or other non-text elements.
2. I will have an easy to accesses navigation bar.
3. I will use the same colour scheme, for all pages.
4. I will have a standard home button, in the same position at each time.
5. I will make any downloads easy to use, and clearly shown.
6. I will make the site so that it is different every week, so that visitors have reason to visit it repetitively.
