Diary of a White Teenager attending Little Rock High School in 1957

Dear Diary

I can’t believe it they’re actually going to attempt coming to my school tomorrow. I’m amazed they got this far but rest assured they wont get much further, my father will see to that. It’s an outrage to the whole white community. Just the thought of all of these dirty niggers roaming the school corridors is enough to make me wonder what this world is coming to and that our president is stooping to an all-time low. Dear Diary

Famous last words! Who would have thought that our own white president would deny us our own school and his own race and arrange for these attention seekers to be allowed to return to our school gates? We didn’t stand a chance though this time. He used force to get them in and our state troupers didn’t compare to the 10.000 troupes he sent to defend them.

We never expected it, especially from one of our own kind. That didn’t stop us protesting though. I felt nothing but pain and anguish as they entered our school doors. I will never accept them and it is only a matter of time before these niggers will be disposed of.
