How dare he make us pretend that these black animals are in the least bit equal to us. They don’t even deserve to live let alone deserve the right to an education such as my own. Unpaid work on farms is far more generous than they deserve!
Father is livid and mother is simply distraught. Just the idea of niggers rebelling and thinking that they are higher than the dirt that they actually are is keeping not only her but also me awake at night. Father believes that hanging people should be brought back into practise and I have to agree with him.
Father bought me a new dress this morning, I’m going to wear it to school tomorrow. I’m just hoping that a nigger doesn’t come so close to me that that their colour rubs off on it. It is only pale pink after all and I’d hate for it to be ruined.

Dear Diary
What an eventful day, we sure showed them. They tried all right, not particularly hard I might add but we claimed victory against these mud coloured dogs once again. At least we’ve got the governor of Arkansas on our side. He ordered for State troupers to come and stop the niggers getting into the school. I watched one of the feeble attempts made by a girl about my age but so unbelievably far below me. I couldn’t help but laugh when she thought she could just walk straight past a state trouper and get away with it. This old woman had it right; she spat right in her face!! They drove off in a car and I shouldn’t think they’ll be back too soon!

Dear Diary
They would never have lasted. They haven’t even attempted to come back since! Definitely a good thing if you ask me. Its about time they realized that they are never going to be “normal”

Dear Diary
Famous last words! Who would have thought that our own white president would deny us our own school and his own race and arrange for these attention seekers to be allowed to return to our school gates? We didn’t stand a chance though this time. He used force to get them in and our state troupers didn’t compare to the 10.000 troupes he sent to defend them.
We never expected it, especially from one of our own kind. That didn’t stop us protesting though. I felt nothing but pain and anguish as they entered our school doors. I will never accept them and it is only a matter of time before these niggers will be disposed of.
