How can I make My local Area Sustainable?
Sustainability is when any economic activity without causing permanent harm to the environment.
My ideas for changing my local area from one of dense housing to one, which includes extensive recreation facilities are outlined below.
At present the area is shown on the map is one of mixed housing – based around three main estates. Each estate has minimum recreational facilities but a continuous and growing number of families with young children. Any recreational facilities require travel (usually by car) to other areas – surely not a good idea these days of limited resources.
I added the Play Areas because at the moment, although the area on the map is almost entirely given over to housing in one form or another, there is only one small playground. Obviously with 3 Primary Schools within the targeted area there are many young children. These children have only one dedicated play area and a few pieces of open fields on which to play, which aren’t very clean anyway with drug dealers and under ages drinkers hanging around them. So I put some Play Areas in because the children can play without having to worry. I think that old people would not like this so much because they don’t see the need for it unless they have young grandchildren they can take out and play on it. I think that parents and children would think it is a good idea because when they go to the other park it is hard to get to and also they have to be very careful with needles and smashed bottles lying around.
