Disadvantages of food shopping online is that when they do not have a product you have ordered they replace it with another product that is similar that you may not like and you can not return the product.
Shopping Lists
You can write a list on the computer this may be a shopping list. The programme you would use would probably be Excel as there are columns and it is simple to use. Some people write a list on the computer because it is easy and helps shopping. Writing a shopping list on the computer can be hard as well as you has to print it of before you go shopping and this takes along time.
Calculating Shopping
If you know the price of each product that you want to buy then you can enter this data into a programme called Excel and you can add the prices altogether to get the total. This a very simple way of calculating your shopping because you just highlight all the prices and click on the button Auto sum and it calculates all the prices. The button Auto sum looks like this: ∑ this is on a line underneath file etc buttons.
The disadvantages of using auto sum is that it is very likely that you o not know the prices of products in the shop and therefore can not total them altogether.
Writing Letters to shops
You can write a letter on the computer using Microsoft word and many other programs. This letter may be to a shop or shop company. Microsoft Word is a easy programme to use and even gives you a plan of your letter first and helps you to set out your letter all you have to do is type the contents of the letter and the address of yourself and correspondent.
This letter may be a compliant letter complaining about products in a shop, it may be rewarding the shop on its products and it may be offering a business proposal to a shop. Disadvantages of writing letters on the computer are that the letter may get lost in the post and the shop may ignore complaint letters. You may also run out of printer ink and you have to have a computer to type a letter on it.
Emailing a Shop
You can email a shop about anything these vary from a complaint email to rewarding emails. Emails are quick and get to the correspondent the same day as you send it unlike the post. Emails are easy to type and you can attach attachments to them this may be a photo of the product. The disadvantage of emails is that the connection of the internet may be down and you may not be able to send your email that day.
Conclusion
In conclusion I think that shopping should not be done online as it is more fun to shop in the actual shop and pick the products you want as you any want change them later on in your shop. Also I think emails are better than posting letters to shops because it is easier and quicker to email. Calculating products in Excel is a waste of time as you do not know all product prices.
Overall I think using ICT in shopping is a waste of time and it is quicker to go to shops even if just to find out a price (or you could phone the shop).
