They twitch, scatter and crumple across their worshipped homeland that provides us ever-hungry humans with the exquisite and joyful taste that we need. Honey. This marvelous city is unnoticed by the mass yet it provides us with the fundamental fruits of life.The internal structure of the city slightly resembles a super computer. The hardworking bees produce the yellow, squishy and fruity honey at an alarming rate. The ground itself feels soft, secure and familiar. In pentagon shaped cells, five ants at a time, picking one edge each, nibble the flourishing juice flowing through to restore energy for the hard work ahead. Most say that quantity is not quality, however these creatures are well adapted to their harsh conditions and fulfill our needs. The city itself could be called a country. From top to bottom, there are thirty two floors with at least a thousand glistening bees each. Each day, as the sun rises and falls, the black, and chocolate coat of the ant’s flashes red. At this point occurs a mixture of colors so beautiful, so poetic. Their local rainbow. Honey. It’s made in different colors in identical cities to this one around the world. From pollen to bee, these creatures produce one delicious outcome and one only, of mouth melting syrup that our race loves. We enjoy the gracefulness of their product but do we thank these marvelous creatures?I, a human, am a stranger here. Violent, and aggressive is the nature of such bees. Bee stings. However, of what I can sense with my hands, I feel warmth and the legs of the bees glance over my nails. From what I can see through this thin microscope, the bees stare in a curious state of mind. Their bulging eyes stare in an ever confused manner. Who would have thought we’d find aliens on Earth?Quickly, efficiently and productively. That’s how these marvelous bees work. The atmosphere, itself, is factory-like. Anxiously, the bees scurry across the horizon to climb up the floors, flying to them in some cases, and depositing their fair load of honey. Perhaps, one could compare it to the cargo transport within an airport. Cargo in. Cargo out. In a flurry of chemical reactions, the beasts use their feet to sufficiently mingle the juicy honey to perfection and then deposit them in giant stores, within the pentagon’s themselves. Job done. Suddenly, tens of them stretch their wings and zoom out of the holes to the world above. Leaving their city to join ours. Back to work.
