Search engine
The search engine I used was google. The UK one, so I could search for schools in Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England.
The search engine I am using is google.co.uk.
To start my search I searched for schools web-sites and got 664000 results so I defined my search.
SETTING UP MY WEBSPACE.
To set up my webspace I used Lycos tripod. Which was offering 50mb of free webspace. I went to build a site and had to join tripod.
I then had to register with tripod giving them my personal details. I gave them my e-mail address so they could respond with details and tell me when my account would be open.
This is the reply I got from Lycos tripod. It tells me to click the link shown below and it takes me to the Lycos web-site.

I then went to a program called Dreamweaver, which helps build the website for me. I filled in details there like what the web-site was called what folders it was in and what folders I needed.
When at Dreamweaver I had to fill in local information but this next screen dump is the remote information. And I had to put the access down which is ftp (file transfer protocol) then I had to put down the hosts web address. I put my login name and password next
To get my web-site on the Internet I had to perform an operation, which gave me the space on the Internet. This is it first of all the administrator logged on and we went to Network Neighbourhood, went to the control panel and seen that the protection mode was switched to on.
I had to disable it to allow my web-site to go on the Internet, as everytime I went on it was not allowing me. So I clicked off.
When I clicked off it gave me this warning message asking are you sure you wish to do this I clicked yes.
The computer then turned the file protector off.
I then had to edit the TCP/IP settings
I opened up the TCP/IP properties and clicked on specify an IP address
I then went to the DNS configuration and enabled DNS
Then I typed in the host or computers number the domain name and DMS server search order.
I then clicked add and this is the configuration set so I clicked ok.
The computer then told me I must restart my computer for this to work so I clicked yes and the computer restarted.
