Pilgrimage is a journey to a distant place of worship or a holy place. It is normally to a place where religious miracles and abnormalities have happened relevant to the pilgrim’s beliefs. In the past pilgrimages used to be a long and dangerous road into the unknown which was a great test in a person’s faith. Pilgrims used to travel by foot to make the experience more challenging and now many travel by train, air or another means of modern transport. This costs a lot of money and takes up much time in a person’s life. Some people think that pilgrimages are a waste of time and other think they are an emotional time in a person’s life where they can reflect on everything that’s happened to them.
