Who Moved My Cheese?

A synopsis

This is a story about the changes taking place in the lives of four characters finding their way around a maze looking for cheese.  In this story cheese is actually used as a metaphor referring to “a job, a relationship, money, a big house, health, recognition, spiritual peace, or even an activity like jogging or golf.”

The book starts before the story does at a gathering in Chicago.  Several former classmates sit at lunch and express to each other that their lives have changed considerably since they left school.  One of the classmates, Michael, mentions that he was afraid of change until he heard a funny little story that changed everything.  He goes on to tell his story.

The story introduces four comical characters.  There were two mice named “Sniff” and “Scurry” and two littlepeople named “Hem” and “Haw”.  All four of them spent their time in the maze trying to find their cheese.  The mice with their little brains just sniffed and scurried through the maze looking for cheese while the littlepeople with their more complex brains were always analyzing and learning from their past experiences while looking for their cheese.
