For A Christian, Nuclear War Can Never Be Justified.

I agree that this kind of war can never be justified.  As a Christian I find the whole prospect of nuclear war very disturbing, knowing that a single bomb the size of a briefcase could kill hundreds of thousands of innocent lives and ruin our planet and threaten the continuation of life on earth.  This is the most obvious point, but another is that the church has now accepted minor weapons such as guns and knives and also bombs used during the two world wars.  Theses weapons can only kill a thousand people or less, and is certainly not as destructive as a nuclear bomb.

  As many nuclear warheads are kept at sea and are well hidden there are fears of the weapon detonating itself by accident and causing escalation and retaliation.  If this happened a nuclear war could start in some other circumstances, for example, if a crazy dictator came into power in a country which has nuclear arms or if an irresponsible government, a terrorist group who were able to get hold of a nuclear weapon or a technical error could set off a nuclear arms accidentally.
