There are many reasons to believe that Mark’s Gospel was written for Non-Jews facing persecution also suggestions Mark wrote it to comfort the Christians who were being persecuted to give them courage, comfort them and to make them brave so they could go on worshipping God. The Christians were persecuted for practising an illegal religion and they were often blamed when things went wrong.
After Jesus’ death Christian were believed to be just another Jew this allowed them to practise their religion with the protection of Judaism. But this also meant that the protection of the Jewish religion was lost as it became clearer that Christianity had become more independent and was seen as a different religion.
