For my Drama Assessment I have chosen to study 'Blood Brothers' by Willy Russell.

We had to pick one major scene from the play to direct. Chloe and I chose the scene where Mickey and Edward meet for the first time and become blood brothers.

Russell gives the impression that Mickey is poorer than Edward and enjoys being a child, he is just a child and acts it, whereas Edward is more sophisticated and acts more grown up , he has been taught not to play in the mud, instead he should play games more like chess, that involve skill.

Mickey would be slouching against a lamppost looking tired, depressed and sullen. He would be dirty and muddy; with untidy hair; his usual white top, is covered in grass stains and streaks of mud. His sleeves will be rolled up to reveal his scarred elbows. His trousers patched up and torn at the bottom edge. His shoes, would be loose tattered, holes through the front from where his toes could poke through. If I had d to pick a famous actor to play him , I think I would choose Nicholas Lyndhurst, who plays Rodney Trotter in ''Only fools and horses'' as he has the same type of attitude to life as Mickey. He has the Cockney accent which sounds cheeky, and that's what I picture Mickey sounding like. They both live in the rough area of town, they both say what they think, and just go along with their brothers tell them too. He can also play any character old or young.

Edward would be standing upright, not slouching with his back up straight as if he had been taught how to all his life. As Edward gives the impression he is more sophisticated and polite, I would have him looking pristine. He would wear black boots, polished with the laces done up in a neat little bow, hair swept back, and his face newly washed without a speck of dirt to be seen. His hands and fingernails would be perfectly scrubbed. His trousers never ever creased, and his pure white shirt; never even been touched by dirt. If I had to pick a famous actor to play him then I would choose Pierce Brosnan as he seems to give the same impression as Edward. His clothes and body perfectly maintained, good manners, and immaculate hair. With a stereotypical English accent.
