“Good morning detective,” said a gloomy faced corporal, “her youngest daughter found her swimming in a pool of her own blood. Things like this sicken me” He walked off in a silent brooding manner, and Daysha hoped to God he did not pull out his gun and shoot the first person to irritate her. She walked in the room and was instantly assaulted with the foul odor of rotting flesh. She put on her mask and began her investigation of the room. She saw the normal momentums that usually adorn a mother’s room. Then she looked down at then corpse, and for a brief moment a wave of nausea flashed through her. She could never get used to looking at a dead body. Then she saw it, clutched in her hand was a handful of hair securely intertwined with her fingers. She called in someone with a kit so that they could take it into evidence. This quite probably could have the cased solved in a couple of days.
She left the crime scene after many hours of searching the victim’s entire home for any other possible clue. Days like this always left her drained, especially after the husband came home from away who had not been made aware of the situation, and was greeted by the sight of his home surrounded by police, he barged in and saw her examining his wife, the sight of which sent him into shock. She longed for a good nights sleep, but sadly, she would not receive it. The dream was more vivid and outstanding more than ever tonight and she woke up in a frenzied panic. She was tempted to turn herself into the psyche ward of the hospital. She had to take a cold shower to shock her out of the state she was in, which was complete fear in its purest most unadulterated form.
Daysha could not take the pressures of work and the battle taking place in her mind; therefore she thought it fitting to go on leave for an undetermined amount of time. The captain was hesitant about this, because she was one of the top in his department, and since she did her job really good, he looked good. Then she could get some help before she died of a panic attack, which she was sure she was near to last night. She got in her car outside her work and drove straight home.
When she arrived in her home, an uncanny urge to get up and go for a work came over her. It was after 8 in the evening, but she knew her street of Dolphin Drive was a safe one so she had no problem leaving her home in the night. As she walked, she got the feeling that she was being followed. It was an unnerving feeling, enough so that it caused her to break into a jog. She heard the footsteps increase speed and she knew she was being followed. She broke into an all out run and she saw something that almost took her breath away. The figure that was always pursuing her in her dreams was behind her. As the figure gained ground and momentum, she stopped and let out a small grin. She knew how her vision ended quite well, and didn’t plan on letting it come true. As the hooded figure was almost upon her, she pulled out her 22m and went to work. She give him two shots to each leg, two for putting her through this ordeal, and two to let out all the pent up rage. She was not secure enough to unmask him alone however, so she went to call the police.
When they arrived on the scene, it was discovered that her stalker was the murdered woman’s husband who had burst in as Abraham examined his wife. Him seeing his wife in that state sent him off balance, and caused him to believe that she killed his wife. He wanted revenge, but he was going to take it out on the wrong person. Even though completely traumatized, Daysha was happy the incident had happened. Maybe now, she could finally get a good nights sleep.
