Shakespear continues this portrale of Tybalt through other charecters for example when Bevolio is talking about Tybalt to Lady Montague Benvolio says,
'the fiery Tybalt, with his sword prepared, which, as he breathed defiance to my ears',
Benvolio emphasis's the fact that Tybalt is bad empered and aslo that he is dangerous.
But in act 1 scene 2, when Romeo decides to 'gatecrash' the capulets party Tybalt is truely not amused by this. But the fact that the lord and lady Capulet don't react to Romeo's precence at the party showed that it wasn't as big a deal as Juliets engagement to Paris. Tybalt automatic reaction of resulting to violence showed us that he has a really short fuse and, that it is in Tybalt nature to be agressive person because Tybalt is insecure and feel that little things might be and embaresment to his status as a Capulet and on his own pesonal image and pride. We know he feels this way when Tybalt says,
"Why, 'uncle, tis a shame."
This statement tells us that Tybalt is very concious of his status and is very contientious about what people think of his family or futuremore what people think of him.
Tybalt has to be restrained by lord and lady Capulet this show us his weakness the fact that lord and lady Capulet have over all say and not even the fiery Tybalt can disobey their say. So we can see that Tybalt can be controlled to extent.
But in Tybalt and Romeo's next confrontation in act 3 scene 1, we witness the extent of Tybalt's anger and its capabilities.
Also we see how Tybalt is portraed by others such as Mercutio when he says,
"And but one word with one of us? couple it with something; make it a word and a blow."
Mercutio emphasis's the fact of Tybalts anger and how a word with Tybalt could turn it to something more phycical.
Tybalt clasification of Romeo's intusion on their 'party' as an injury tell us that Tybalt charecter is presented very short tempered and see's simple things such as ' gatecrashing' the Capulet's party as very damaging to his status which he's very insecure over,
"this shall not excuse the injuries that thou hast done to me,"
Romeo protest his innocents but then we witness the fight between Tybalt who was hopeing to fight Romeo but instead Mercutio steps forward. But because of Romeo's love for Juliet. Romeo try's to stop the fight but accidently aids the death of Mercutio by Tybalt.
Then we see Tybalts flieing away with his followers so we know he must be scared of the kings other wise seeing him previously we would think that he wold of stayed and gloated for a while.
But in Tybalts final scene in which he is slain by Romeo like some dragon, a force of evil. Tybalt still comes across mighty and powerful but also glad because he's got what he wanted, and that was Romeo in a fight. Mercutio was mearly a starter and also Tybalt dose belive to have the advantage because he knows that Romeo is fighting out of emotion and Tybalt belives himself to be the stronger.
In conclusion overall the role that Tybalts charecter plays in Romeo and Juliet is a strong, authoritative figure a key figure of the Capulet household. As well as having a very high status in the Capulet household Tybalt is highly feared of, in the city of Verona that he has obviously gained through truely vicious acts. And Tybalt is alway presented by Shakespear as looking for a fight or always angry at something or someone and needed to be calmed down. But we see that Tybalt is only as strong as his ego and his status behind all of that he's just a simple person .
