PRINCE: ‘If ever you disturb our streets again, your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace’ His statement has a strong language. In his statement he says on will die as punishments which refers if any Capulet or a Montague fight each other they got to die as their punishments.
It is also possible that Romeo and Juliet were responsible for their own deaths.
The misunderstanding between Romeo and Juliet is one of the reason that cost their death.
One of the people who is quite responsible is Tybalt. This is because he killed Romeo’s best friend. TYBALT: what, drawn and talk of peace? I hate the word as I hate hell, all Montague’s and thee’ (hates everyone!) here Shakespeare has used rhetorical question to make people think of it and groups of three where he uses hate three times to make the statement more emotional. What, drawn and talk of peace? Where he is asking Benvolio in anger. He says he hates and also persuades the Montague’s also do so.
Another person who is responsible is Paris. This is because he wanted to marry Juliet and she was already married to Romeo. PARIS: ‘these times of woe afford no times to woo. Madam goodnight; commend me to your daughter The statement ‘Juliet is mourning Tybalt but I still will marry her’ tell that He doesn’t care what ever happens to anyone his main aim is to marry Juliet.
Another person who is responsible is Friar Lawrence. This is because he gave an idea to Juliet to act as it’s her death and after he sent a letter to men, but the letter was never delivered. FRIAR LAWRENCE: ‘here I stand, both to impeach and purge myself condemned and myself Shakespeare has used groups of three to make the statement more remorseful. Here he states that he accepts the things which he had gone wrong and accepts that he is standing in guilty. He also says with bitterness that he wants to be punished and to be forgiven.
Another person who is responsible is Romeo. This is because
He was irresponsible marrying Juliet because he knew that she was a part of the enemies’ family. ROMEO: (to Tybalt) ‘Either thou or I, or both must go with him’. Here Romeo is emotional to express his feelings on the death of his best friend Mercutio. He also wants revenge.
However, in conclusion, the person who I think is most responsible is Tybalt because he killed Romeo’s best friend which makes Romeo kill him and Paris banished Romeo from Verona.
