Other Christians who lead by such examples can inspire us

Being a Christian in today's world generally means loving God and our neighbour. Christians must pray and give thanks to God for all the wonderful things we have in this life; we must forgive those who hurt us. Other Christians who lead by such examples can inspire us. Take Martin Luther King, we can learn from his way of life, that equality is only accepted. Martin Luther King is an idol of a true disciple; he never showed any prejudice against anyone, but stood up for what he believed in order to gain equality for all Gods people. Christians consider themselves servants of others and not seek greatness in the wrong areas. We must have faith in God even when times are hard and we are finding it difficult to cope. Take when Jesus healed the paralyzed man. When Jesus was preaching, four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man. They couldn't get to Jesus because of the crowd Jesus was preaching to. So they cut a whole in the roof and lowered the man down on a mat to Jesus. Jesus seen their faith was strong so healed the man. Here we can see as Christians that Faith makes everything possible. When we truly believe in God and the message of the gospel, then living as a true disciple is part of our way of life. In his teaching and by his example, Jesus set ideals and goals for Christian disciples. Even though we realize we will never be perfect disciples, this does not mean that we cannot aim to be as good a disciple as possible. We learn through the Gospel that discipleship is about striving towards perfection and aiming at imitating Jesus. Christians devote their lives to God. Take the twelve disciples they gave up their lives to follow a man they didn't even know. Many Christians become Priests or join Religious orders, and live devoted lives of prayer and work. People take Priests and members of such congregations for granted, but they have really given up so much to try and do that extra bit for their religion. St Vincent de Paul is an example of normal disciples who have answered Gods call by helping others and giving to the poor. Like the followers at the time of Jesus, Christians today need faith. To have faith in Jesus in today's world is extremely difficult; if we look around we see death, and destruction. Christians at the time of Jesus could see Jesus performing miracles and making people well again. Christians in today's world cannot see this and yet they believe. If people were able to see these miracles it would make it easier for them believe. Many people in today's world are true disciples of God, they help others, they are considerate to others needs, and Love God and their neighbour. Most people try to live their lives as best as they can, but this "Faith" in God is often very difficult to maintain. We as Christians should try our best to put others first. We should not be self-obsessed and infatuated with ourselves, as there are many people in the world at this moment who feels they have no one, and our duty as Christians is to make them feel needed and most importantly loved.

We as Christians should not always see the bad side to things, we should be optimistic that we are doing a good job spreading the good news and teaching others. Being a Christian also gives us hope that there is life after death and we should not be afraid if we believe.
